Can I use my tide detergent to wash my microfiber towels? Is there anything else I can use besides microfiber cleaner? Don't have the cash to buy any right now :(

I found there is a difference between Tide and BF microfiber restorer. The BF cleans and removed polish/compound residue better than Tide.

I use Tide and fill the fabric softener dispenser with vinegar. I use the "hand wash" setting with extra rinse cycle. My towels come out like new. :coolgleam:

This. The vinegar is a natural fabric softener and it removes detergent from the fibers of the towel.

I like to use two rinse cycles.

Then dry for 15-20 on the lowest dryer setting then air dry the rest of the way.

I always used Tide Free and Clear then a vinegar rinse. Since switching to 3D Towel Kleen no need to do the vinegar rinse and the towels are coming out very soft and clean. It's inexpensive too.

i use dawn dish soap to wash my microfiber towels and put them inn the dryer for atleast 30mins to dry

Thanks for all the feedback gents! Can't wait to get home, wash my towels, and then wash my truck!

I may need to try this out at half the price of Micro-Restore.

I never bought into the MF detergent trend until 3D Towel Kleen came out. At $15 a gallon its actually cheaper per oz then Woolite/Tide free, which I was using previously (you also use less product per cycle).

Cleans well, towels seem soft, no vinegar required. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I mix dawn with a little arm and hammer washing liquid. No softeners in it and I do a 15 min. Soak with just dawn on warm setting then change to cold and let it was. Dry 2or 3 times on no heat. Gets mine like new.

I pre soak my microfiber towels in a big bucket of very hot water and add a scoop of oxi-clean. They sit there with an occasional stirring or agitation for an hour or two. Then they go in the washer with two or three ounces of BlackFire cleaner and restorer and a pod of All Free and Clear thrown in for good measure. I put the machine on medium water heat/cool rinse at the "heavy duty" setting. I also use half of a cup of white vinegar with a second rinse cycle. I line dry the towels during the summer and in winter dry them in the machine on medium setting. No problemo so far!

1 cup tide 1 cup degressor 4 cups bleach all this in washer 1st then mf wool pads foam pads also .Line dry only . Was asked when are they to old to use ? When they get heavy there done for .you can use them for tires and crome.

You use 32oz of bleach in your MF towel load? I can't imagine your MF's last very long.

Like the others have said, MF detergent or an OTC free & clear detergent, this will help prevent dyes and fragrances from clogging up your towels and they almost become "water" proof.

Some tips I've learned over the years....that I've found work well.

Washer - Hottest setting available (hot water will not damage a MF, but it aids in breaking up polishing oils), extra rinse and pre-soak in a bucket if extremely dirty.

Dryer - IPA wipedown your drum if you routinely use dryer sheets. Then 30-45 tumble dry on the lowest setting...and of course don't use a dryer sheet.
