Tiered Menu

After reading Reny Doyle's book it has me thinking about creating a tiered menu. I have already started on creating one and so far I like the way it will work out. I have it setup for 3 levels exterior and 3 levels of exterior all of which can be mix and matched.

I was just looking for peoples opinion if they have tried this type of menu out before or what your thoughts may be on this. Thank you for the feedback.
 
I have a tiered system in place but to be honest nobody really looks at it. Most of my details are based on figuring the goals of my client and their bugeted $$. They then look for to my expertise to upsell or downsell. The reason I have a "menu" is because I know there are "lookers" and it looks professional to have one.
 
I completly understand what you are saying. I do plan on talking with the customer and finding what will really suit their needs. I plan on using this to create a custom package for the customer that will solve all of their needs.
 
Dr. Pain nailed it. So much of this is case-by-case and really subjective. For a wash-only vs wash-clay-wax vs wash-clay-cleanse-wax menu, I think it makes great sense. You can be concise, and it's a nice spot to refer folks. That said... I got to the point with paint correction where I'd only quote after seeing the vehicle, and even then I'd try to only offer an hourly rate. Do a few of those details that take eight hours, even though you under-quoted a flat rate, and the sting doesn't go away. :)

The folks who heavily price-shop, or need to know exactly how much it'll cost ahead of time have always scared me. If I fail to adequately explain the value of what I do, and why I need to see the car to quote on that service, I tend to say thanks anyway and encourage continued shopping.
