While at Sema I found this great machine for keeping cool on a hot summer day working in the garage . This company has been around for a very long time and this machine is the newest model . It's not a AC unit but runs water over a membrain and is self contained it also is portable at only 75lbs and on wheels . I plan on making a order for one when the rep gets back into town after Sema .

Thanks for the pictures Adam!! And for the info you gave me last night. You catch up on your sleep yet?

Is it like a water cooler? Will it work in a humid environment?

Yes Ron it works fine I was told since I live in South Florida that was a concern of mine . I was told that it produces less humidity then having my garage door open during the summer plus it uses very little electric . You can go too there web site but that model isn't on it yet . I also was concerned about the air coming out would rust my tools the rep said it wouldn't be a problem . I'm also in the process of sending the information to AG since the company also makes units big enough to use in a warehouse Meghan was very interested in that also.

Thanks Adam for the info. Might look into it this spring.

I've seen one of those before. They are pretty cool units. I'd love to get one for the summer

In my experience those "swamp cooler" are very effective, but only in lower humidity environments...

:iagree: Grew up in Colorado and we had a "swamp cooler" which worked fine. I doubt these would be effective in humid zones.

i would be careful before buying one.. i worked at a factory and in the mechanics chop we had a huge one and all it ended up being a fire hazard. the switch shorted out and sparked.. im not bashing the company or anything, just be extra sure you check it out thoroughly first

This thing is awesome!

I just went on their site and the model in your photo (cyclone 2000 and even saw the 3000) is on their site.

I have a friend who has two of those. On really hot days their next to worthless, plus they both leak water. On top of that, their very bulky

Interesting Flash I moved them around with no problem at all . Is it the same company ??

Not sure, but they look exactly alike. I will check next time I'm over there. I know he paid $600 apiece 3 years ago. I don't believe moving them around is a problem for them

If I were you, I would install a window unit in your garage or have your central air's duct work re-routed if possible

Yea... we have that same brand at work and in the summer (high humidity) they work good if they are closing on you. We refer to them as swamp coolers and the ones we have a huge. We hook a water hose to them to keep a water in the system. We've also used them is the hot hangars of Afghanistan and they work well. They aren't cheap and good luck.

I bet you could rent one from somewhere to try it out before spending 425.00 or so on one. That way you know how it works and if it works for you. I know I have seen one at our local Hertz Tool Rental place here in Fayetteville, NC.
We too have them at work but ours is 7-10 or so years old and that may be why it does not work as well as it used to. We still do use it but normally with other fans. It is normally about 110 degrees on some of the floors at the plant so air movement is important during the summer.:xyxthumbs:
