So I've been using hyper dressing forever at this point and love the way it finishes out. However, I have my second set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's, and for both sets of these tires, they just don't like the D170. It looks all blotchy like it doesn't adhere or stay on evenly in spotty areas. It'll coat good in some spots and then leave dull spots that look like bare rubber a short if the dressing didn't even stay in place. Drives me bonkers. Don't have this problem on any other brand. You guys experience this with different products working great on some tire brands and not on others? Yea, I know I should put up some pics to show. I will next time it's clean.

Depends on how old the tires are... brand new tires always have a tough time holding onto product.

I have found tires to be behave very differently between brands, or even tires of the same brand. I used a tire coating on my car's OEM Pirelli's that worked great, but it simply wouldn't last on the Bridgestone's or Continental tries mounted on my other vehicles. Duragloss 253 worked great on the Bridgestone's and now the Michelin's on my wife's car and does simply OK on my daughter's Continentals. However, a different Continental tire on my car, it doesn't seem to work very well at all.

New tires will have the mold release on the sidewalls which doesn't help matters. To make it even worse, if your tire shop made a huge mess of things with the mounting lube like mine did, that adds even another layer of greasy goo that will interfere with the dressing. It took over a month of daily driving, rain, and frequent scrubbing with an APC and tire/wheel cleaner before I could get that stuff off so they would accept any form of dressing.

I'm hoping it's just. Matter of training the tires and wearing down the surface. But if memory serves, my last set of michelins never did get perfect. I have a brand new set of Pirelli's that coated and finished perfect straight out of the gate.
