Yup, it's time time of year again here in the NE...

A very small "threat" of snow and the roads are dripping in brine :bat:

Not only that, but the local news loves to SENSATIONALIZE the first (measurable) snow of the year. Yesterday everyone woke up to freezing rain and many people were complaining that schools didn't have at least some kind of delay. The local news downplayed this, but will go bananas for an inch of snow. The ice is more treacherous if you ask me.

They do the same thing here in Chicago because we got 4" and they called it a storm

Back in the 70's they didn't even talk about snow unless it was over 6 inches....lol

You get insane snow in Chicago, right? Or not really? I know it's at least a thing there...just like it is in central CT. You're not ever going to have a winter here without at least a solid storm or two. in 2013 we got FORTY INCHES after a storm. Now that's nutty for sure, not to be repeated for a really long time, but...snow happens here.

And people go bonkers grabbing crap off the shelves like Spam and cookies, like the world's gonna end if you get 4" LOL

Our winters vary but it's still the midwest. Last year we got 3' of snow in like 3 weeks from the end of Jan into Feb. That said, we're no Buffalo or Canada, that's for sure

IMO THAT'S the starting point for "a storm"

I have cousins that used to live in Flint, MI, and they said if they had to cancel school whenever it snowed they'd be going to school deep into July LOL

It all depends. like KA said...we are in the area that can get 200" of snow in a season.I still think it snowed more in the 70's....lol

We are "supposed" to get 1-3" overnight and there's panic...

Yea. Some really mild weather here in PA so far! Calling for some snow tonight. Probably pay for this FEB/MARCH.

Society is moving to a victimhood mentality. Whoever is panicking should be embarrassed (unless they have mental health issues).

We have 2 fun winter vehicles and one we are picking up Saturday!

Congratulations on the future vehicle, will there be a supper thread so we can check it out?

No kidding. At the end of last week I washed my car and hooked it up to the battery tender and don't plan on using it until roads are clean again. It's gross out there with brine and salt everywhere and we're only supposed to get a few inches.

Yeah welcome to another season of people driving like complete idiots....white knucklin the steering wheel driving 10-15 under when there's only a dusting to an inch on the roads. They cause the accidents. They act like they've never seen snow/ ice b4.

This is when my laid back personality is severely tested! lol
