This is the last car for April and wasn't too bad exterior-wise. I am using a process that's going to be standard for the shop because of the finished appearance.

Step 1: clay if needed
Step 2: wool pad + compound and work the area until glossy
Step 3: glaze with a glaze foam pad
Step 4: 3M Ultrifina SE and their blue pad
Step 5: Meguiar's #26

Here's the result of the above process. I'll probably have some black cars to try in May, so it should be interesting.

I have been waiting for another one of these, and again awesome work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks great, just like all your other work

Unbelievable reflection and shine Toto. Just beautiful.

Thanks folks! I won't have any more Bimmers until late May, so I took on a Toyota Land Cruiser (black) for this weekend's project. And I might have a shot at a black M6...dunno about that yet.

Plus, I've got biz trips to Austin TX and Nashville TN in the May mix, so I definitely won't be bored!

About wool: I started out using wool and almost quit because of the overall swirling induced by the material. Then I talked to some "old time" wool users and learned that I wasn't taking my process far enough: Keep wool clean, use a little product, and polish until the swirls are gone. Also, diminish pressure on the rotary from medium to light. I watched a body shop guy do a panel with wool and compound and it was amazing. The panel almost didn't need wax...it was that good!
