Just in case the neighbors didn't already think I was nuts, today I gave them unquestionable proof. My original plan was to change the oil in my trusty Snapper; however, I could barely find the drain plug. What started as "knocking off 8 years of grime," became more of a detailing project. My process was less than professional since achieving a show car finish wasn't the intent. I mainly used Amazing Roll Off on the engine and Megs Gold Class Shampoo everywhere else. I finished with 303 on all the vinyl & plastic and dressed the tires with Megs Tire Foam.

Here are the pictures:

The sad thing...I didn't get my oil changed. Once I found the drain plug, I couldn't get it to budge. Oh well, as least it will look good when the engine blows. :props:

Wow, it cleaned up real well, great job. I changed oil and cleaned up the PW this weekend. Got to take care of your tools.

Nice job! I love projects like this. Always good fun!! :props:

Laura, you have taken the fun of detailing to a whole new level. While you're neighbors may think you've gone over the edge there's little question who's got the greatest looking snapper on the block!! :props:

Laura It looks Awsome! I did the same thing to my Troy built last weekend started out to service it and ended up a full blown correction and detail.

No problem. I had the same thing happen on a tiller. I just used a small hand pump in the oil level check hole to suck out as much used oil as possible. Then refilled with fresh oil. Still running great and it's been fifteen years. And about thirty oil changes.
But your mower sure looks great!

I am sure my neighbors think I am crazy, but my psychiatrist says I am just OCD :)

Ya did a great job Laura.
Don't forget to get the blade sharpened.

Wow... That thing is now worth an extra couple hundred bucks. Very nice job and thanks for posting the pictures.

Great stuff. I love seeing out of the ordinary detail write ups.

That is awesome! I was mowing today and was thinking I should detail my mower! Man we are all sick!!:awesome:

The Snapper looks great! You gotta have have a good looking ride, no matter what the ride is!

LOL!! This just sounded funny.

Nice work on cleaning up the mower. I've considered doing the same with the John Deere, but now that it's staying with the house we're selling, I've lost that ambition. Great job on getting it that clean!

Mark
