After receiving my replacement tornador (original one had a broken trumpet; thanks Penny) :grouphug: I was finally able to try it out.

I live on a farm and we have several kinds of dust that get in all the nooks and crannies on vehicles:

Spring: Planting Dust
Summer: Spraying Crops Dust
Fall: Harvesting Dust
All Seasons: Gravel Road and Drive Dust

Megs APC mixed 10:1 was used in this application.

Things I learned:

Pros:

Product suction tube is weighted and moves with the angle of the unit so you always have cleaner available.

Selector switch for both product and air or just air for drying works well

Worked great at blowing cleaner into those hard to reach areas and pushing the dirt out.

I used less product than I would with a spray bottle. It was easy to get dirt rolling like you would use when cleaning a sidewalk with a garden hose.

This thing is just plain fun.

Cons:

Can be awkward around steering column but this is simply a matter of self adjustment.

There is a lot of mist in the air (to be expected when blowing any liquid) keep area ventilated.

There will be mist overspray onto vehicle when working on doors and rubber seals so do not use for this unless you are also washing your vehicle that day.

Air compressor that goes above 90psi is recommended. There was a performance drop off when the psi went below 90psi (If your compressor has a max setting of 90psi once the motor cycles off it will not start up again until it hits a level well below 90.

I set my compressor output to 110psi so it cycled from 90 – 110.

So how do I feel about the Tornador?

I love this thing. I am very happy with its performance after only one use and I have no regrets in purchasing it. :props:

I do wonder however if the plastic trumpet (cone) can be ordered separately as a replacement part. It can be unscrewed from the unit so it seems that there should be a way to get individual parts for it if needed.

I have not tried it yet for carpeting or seats so that will have to wait for another day.

Thanks for reading.

Good review! Thanks for posting it up.

I have been eyeballing these for a while, and this just brings me one step closer to taking the plunge!

Very good review I"m waiting for mine to come. I ordered the tornado black Monday after using it in Mikes boot camp this past weekend. I"m also In the process of buying a portable compressor. Right now my main business is working on Motorcycles, I'v had bikes that the wheels especially the back wheel is so bad even after spraying a good degreasor and useing a brush, plus 2700 psi pressure washer doesent do the trick. I cant wait to use the tornado.

I use mine almost every day. You will wear out the cone. You can buy them on ag for $10 or the kit for $26 . It's under the tornador page. I ended up buyingn a 2nd o e and went with black this time. You'll love it for everything. I even use it to apply dressing on the interior and the motor. The only drawback is having a powerful enough compressor

I just got mine today, hooked it up and the air regulator just leaked air out of the knob so i could not even use it. Used the tool for 1 hour. spray out put was sparadic at best then quit all together. So pissed, guess ill try to get a replacement.

Great review Alex!

I like the pro's and con's you listed and you seem to like the product quite well! :props:

As a man that uses the Tornador Black everyday, I figured I would throw my $.02 in. I do not think that they are built as good as they should be for the price. I had to order and return 3 different ones before recieving one that actually worked properly. On the other hand, when they work, they REALLY work. They work great on most seats, other than newer style chrysler and ford cloth. The stiffer/more coarse material. Check into a company called AutoMagic. Their TIO fabric cleaner works best with the Tornador. I use this pair on a daily basis and 99/100 times I am completely satisfied.

I use mostly all Automagic. I don't really like/use their polishes/waxes but the cleaners are amazing. Especaiily the Special Cleaner. It works wonderful with the Tornador and it dulites so well. What is the fabric cleaner? I've not heard of it.

Actually come to think of it. Picturing the bottle... It may not be automagic. I want to say a company called technicians choice. I will check tomorrow at work. And I completely agree with your comment about the waxes and polishes. The only wax of theirs that I use is the strawberry wet wax. Goes on easy, hazes quick and has a pretty good shine. Carnauba based also.
