Ok. For a weekend worrier that has a pc and looking to speed things up. Is the torq worth a try

I can't say, have never tried or seen one. GG6 would be a good weekend warrior tool.

The only real difference is more power and different ergonomics, so it may or may not be more comfortable to use. If you want one machine to do it all get a GG6 or a Flex. The GG6 has already proven itself on the market to be a great machine and it has a lifetime warranty. The Flex is a awesome machine and it will correct paint noticeably faster then your PC.

Then there is the option of the Rupes polisher which is another great machine, I've been using a friends 15 lately and have to say that I didn't really care for them in the past but the more I use em the more I like them. They correct fast and run smooth, but if you are going to have one machine the flex is more versatile with pad sizes and backing plate sizes.

I would stay away from the cg's torq10fx. if you have a problem with it, their customer service isn't known to be the most responsive/greatest and you might find yourself stuck with it (avoid the headache) if a problem arises. there are plenty of other great DA's on the market to choose from these days...

The FLEX is in a league above standard DA. Dress it up any way you want but the 3401 is just nuts.

With the Flex if you want to go with MF pads go with the thicker Buff n Shine pads.

They don't at all IMO. Looked at the Torq and couldn't believe how cheap it was. Speed dial doesn't make any sense at all. If you want an 8mm free spinning DA go with the GG6, MT300, HF, or PCXP. The Flex is on a whole different level.

I wish I'd done my research before buying the Torq. I drank the CG kool-aide and assumed the Torq would be a step up from a PC. I did have issues with mine, such as it stopped working. 3 months to resolve but it did get resolved. Refurbished unit is doing fine so far. I have maybe 60 hours on it. I got it as a kit for a great deal and that helped make my decision. When it makes sense, I'll upgrade whenever I can.
