Hey guys/gals,

I was curious on what mobile guys use for towel storage on the go? I have read about rubbermaid type containers and that's about it. I'm interested to hear how you guys take your towels from job to job or on the job. Thanks in advance, Tory

usplastic: Quantum® Heavy Duty Attached Top Containers

or similar from walmart/target/etc. doesn't have to be too fancy.

containers is the most obvious/common to store

Larry from AMMO has a huge duffle bag with all his MF towels

dont really know many ways to store towels besides that

really? put them in a container.

No need to be a smart ***. It was a simple question to see if there are other methods or ways people store towels. Maybe you didn't read my thread fully about (I have heard of rubbermaid style containers!! Which means i'm aware of that already and looking for something outside the obvious without smart *** remarks.

Not everyone uses that method and if your tight on space containers wouldn't work. I currently use 3 bigger mesh bags 1 for clean, 1 for dirty , 1 for towels that touch paint.

So instead of posting useless info or trying to make someone feel as if that's the only way, And I should know it... By the reply you made. How about answering the question to begin with? Thanks..

I like the Sterlite 28L clear containers with the tan lids from walmart. I use them for the older MF and terry towels.

For my newer and super clean MF towels, believe it or not, I've found that the clear flexible plastic container that my wife's comforters are sold in work really well. I can unzip them all the way to throw in a lot of them and I can unzip the container a little wider than my hand to pull them out one at a time. Plus, they conform to almost any open space in the van.

I use containers myself. Nothing special just a few I picked up from walmart. Another option could be the large zip lock storage bag that lets you roll the extra air out. Might save space that way and leaves them protected from outside contamination.

I use the "heavy duty" black sterlite containers with the red snaps from wal- mart for all my stuff. 1 for microfibers,1 for applicators and terry cloth, and , 1 for misc. crap.

Keep it simple. If you have a large van or trailer then the plastic storage containers work well for your clean towels and use a a heavy duty trash bag for dirty towels as you go through them. Take what you need and as you go through them place them in your dirty towel bag so they don't end up on the garage floor to become contaminated with junk that won't wash out, like leaves, sticks, etc.

KISS - Keep it Simple Simon

IF you don't have a large detail van, truck or trailer then use a clean trash bag for your clean towels and a second clean trash bag for your dirty towels.

See what I wrote here back in 2009 on this topic.

Keeping dirty/clean towels separated

I don't know if anyone else experienced this. I threw a couple of white Meg's MF towels that I had used for QD into a Sterlite container and closed the lid. After just a day or two they had red blotches on them like a mold breakout or something. Ever since then I put them in there until there are enough to wash, but keep the lid loose so it can breath.

I wasn't trying to be a ****, it's a simple question so I just gave a simple answer.
Didn't understand you needed a specific answer about small area, small container.

I’m a mobile service (without a trailer), I have a Ford F150 Crew Cab and when I have all my equipment and supplies loaded space is limited. I use these tote bags I purchased though a company my wife Rep’s for and they work great.

I’ve used plastic containers in the past but because they are rigid they made it difficult to pack into the truck, whereas the totes are flexible making it easy to stuff in a corner or where ever.

I pack the tote in a way where the items I’m going to use first are on top and as I work through my process I work my way to the bottom i.e. towels for wiping/cleaning interior, dressing applicators, wash mitt, drying towels, pads and so on… Tote Size (11.75H x 21.1W x 10D) Top cover is an add on.

If you are interested in getting these totes, PM me and I will give you her contact information.

May not work for everyone, but they work great for me.

Hope this helps.

Greg

Plastic totes with drawers for me. When they are done being used they go in my fold up hamper I got at the dollar store for a couple of bucks. Bought 5 of them and they have been amazing and they look much better than a trash bag so you can set it next to your project and not have to leave.
