Traditional orbital buffer-(Wax spreader)

So I'm not going to ask the difference between the traditional orbital buffer and a PC. I do however received a TOB as a gift, it was a well intended gesture :birthday: I have read Mike Phillips posts and done my research and know there is not much I can do to really tackle swirls or scratches. I guess my question is, I will be using Meguiars M105 and M205, for the compound Meguiars says it will require only 1500-2000 RPM. The inexpensive TOB does have a fix speed but def. can reach that speed. Will I be kidding myself thinking that a wool bonnet or any used with this can do somewhat of a decent job? My paint is in moderate shape and has light swirls. My plan of attack is:

Wash
Clay
Polish-M105 and 205
Prewax-Collinite 840
Seal-Opt-seal
Wax-Collinte 845

Depending on your definition of "decent job"...
You probably already answered that question here:

Only 1500-2000 RPM may not sound like a lot...
But Meguiar's is referring to a rotary polisher's RPMs.
And: That's a lot!

Also, if the TOB has a "fixed speed" (no load speed)...
How can it "reach" more speed?

My birthday passed this winter but thanks. It was given during the winter so I did not need to use it. I do believe it was an Autozone purchase since I buy some of my low level items there my girlfriend thought that's where i buy every car item. I could get a PC or Griot but I will wait until the next time around. For now i'm stuck with this and my hands. Wax I plan to do by hand but polishing is where I am stuck. Not sure the best way to tackle this at least to hold me for 6 months.

-What is #840's product description, and its intended purpose?
-Are there other products, among those that you listed, that could perform the same purpose? (redundancy)
-What type of paint system are you going to be working on: SS or BC/CC?

-#840 is a pre-wax cleaner to remover old wax, dirt, bug bombs not cleared by cleaning or clay, or anything else.
-I did see other products but i decided to go with this group based on what i read. I guess i'm in the experiment stage.
-I will be working on a BC/CC, space grey.

You've already cleaned the CC-paint, more than enough,
with M105/205!

Reason I asked was, if you know where it came from you might be able to return it and upgrade to a more traditional polisher. I don't know what lines Autozone carries. I was kind of looking for Harbor Freight. :buffing:

No it is a Wells Stanton manufacturing. Never heard of them.

Autozone in my town sells a DA. Might check and see if you can swap.

There's nothing wrong with a "wax" spreader if you use it to apply wax.
As for paint corrections it doesn't have the ability to break down the Polish your using, that's so important.
Can you still use it?, IMO no, I think you'd do more harm then good but who am I to say I'm correct.
