I am visiting my parents for Christmas and want to show my dad some basic car maintenance steps. I am brining him a jar of Pinnacle SSII and PWCL. Does anyone know if I will have any problems checking them in my luggage on a Southwest flight?

Look for a post I replied to earlier this year (I think) on the subject. It seems it is usually OK for checked bags. I make sure everything is accesible for testing if they do want to, and add a sheet with my business name and description of the articles inside the bag. They always open my suitcase, but I have never lost anything. I carry clay, waxes, polishers and pads, backing plates, even MF...

You won't have any issues providing you're not packing anything flammable.

Make double sure that you put liquids in sealed bags so that they don't leak if handled roughly.

Or ship it ahead of time....

As long as it's checked, you should be fine.

Thanks everyone. If I had thought it earlier, I would have shipped them, but now, I'd have to pay a lot for them to arrive when I need them. Glad to hear I can just check them and save money.

I had the same question when I went and visited my brother down in FL. I ended up shipping because the last thing I wanted was for the bag to go missing, I was bringing my DA with me. However, I had forgotten my pads, I know stupid me right?, and Luxury Mobile offered me to use his. Thankfully I was able to get the pads next day aired and didn't have to impede on Luxury Mobile's kindness. Have fun teaching your dad though!

I bet that won't let you take them.

They need to be in travel size - 4oz... good luck!

Pinnacle SSII is a paste wax. I don't know how you are going to get it into a 4oz travel bottle designed for liquid unless you wanna melt it.

I would ship and be safe.

Thats why I said LIQUIDS. Paste wax I don't think is on the banned list for TSA.

I'm not just talking to you so don't take it like I am..

4 oz only applies to carry-on. You can have any sized bottles in checked baggage, as long as it's not flammable.

Thanks everyone for the input. As an update, I packed a 16 oz bottle of pinnacle PWCL and a jar of Pinnacle SSII in a ziplock bag in my checked luggage on a Southwest flight with no problems. Everything made it to my destination w/o incident and no little note that says my bag went through additional screening.

good to hear, im about to bring way more product then that on a greyhound(uggggggggh!).well hope you put it to good use!

You can pack guns in checked luggage, I think detailing products will be fine...lol.

Really how could they tell the difference between most chemicals and a bottle of shampoo or liquor. As long as they are not overweight or ticking I think you are fine. :)

I bring a QD like ONR and window cleaner when I travel. Rental cars that I get are "just washed" which means I usually can't see through the water spots on the wind shield.....and I may be a little OCD.
