I just used the Pinnicle clean and condition product for my tan leather in my BMW. I'm not real happy with the reults, I think I need more cleaning power. the leather is in good condition, but I'd like it to look much more new than it does. It is 3 years old. Should I use something else? thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I use the Connolly leather cleaner to clean the leather then the Connolly Hide care to protect. In between, I use the Pinnacle Leather product.

AG sells a kit that is a great value. It's what I purchased.

For leather cleaning, I use a boar's hair brush and a very mild solution of dishwashing soap diluted with warm water. I gently scrub a section of the seat, wipe off with a terry towel + compressed air to dry and remove excess from the seams. If the leather is extremely dirty, I use a leather cleaner, but care must be taken or you can remove the dye from the seat face.

The BMW shop where I detail likes leather that is not glossy: rather, it looks new.

Here's a pic of a 745iL that I recently did:

Some customers want a leather preservative and Pinnacle makes a fine conditioner. But, you probably need to clean first, then apply the conditioner.

All in One type products may be good, but always found that 1 step specific products offer the best outcome. For weighed on leather, look to Leathrique.

Lauran, I use magic eraser on tuff spots, only on US and Jap cars. Do not use magic eraser on German cars!

I use the Pinnacle as well. I've never seen a leather cleaner/conditioner have very much cleaning power. I just look at it as a added benefit. The Pinnacle you bought is an awesome product on pre-cleaned leather. I have used Woolite at a 10:1 ratio for cleaning leather. It's actually recommended by Cadillac. This week though, I used DP's Total Interior Cleaner and was very impressed with it's cleaning ability. The smell was very nice as well.

I would use a Woolite mix since it's easily to find. Get the plain detergent and get a spray bottle and mix 10:1 (10 parts water to 1 part Woolite). There should be marking on the sides. Spray it on the leather and rub in with a coarser that usual micro fiber towel. See what this does and later get the DP.

Then, when dry, apply the Pinnacle. I love the smell of the Pinnacle and the softness that it gives to the leather. Don't expect an artificial, bright shine. It's just going to return the leather to a like new condition.

Oh yeah. Here's a before and after of my Woolite's cleaning ability followed by Meguiar's Leather Conditioner (Detailer Line).

I kinda like this Megs detailers line leather cleaner/conditioner myself. Awesome product for bulk detailing for a good price.

Lauren,
I believe SParkie uses the Mr.Clean Magic Eraser. I have also found so generic brands local stores like Target.

Lauren,

Magic Eraser is sold at the grocery store, drugstore, Target, Wal-Mart, etc.

We sue it around the house alot. It is great for getting grime off doors and walls. Greta for scrubbing of pencils, etc on wals from little ones.
