Hi All,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to spent quality time with family and/or friends.
Tonight I had a Wash/Protectant detail. This was on a 05' Lincoln TC that I had corrected and sealed(BFWD)in the late summer, that the owner now wanted CQ protection for the winter.
After washing I noticed that the vehicle was contaminated with a few spots of tree sap that didn't come off during the wash process.
To remove the sap,I wanted to try the least aggressive method for removal 1st.I un-successfully attempted the sap removal first with Dodo's DetailSpray and Pinnacle's Ultra Poly-Clay.
I didn't want to abrade the paint,so I tried a second attempt.This time I broke out my 600ml bottle of CarPro's TarX.
When I shook the product up and attempted to spritz the effected sap area's,the bottles trigger popped when depressed and would NOT spray any TarX.
So I took the TarX sprayer off and I grabbed my bag of cotton make-up pads and covered the TarX bottle open end with the make-up pad and turned the TarX upside down.So it was just enough for the product to saturate the pad.
I then took the TarX saturated pad and started blotting(not wiping back and forth)the sap contaminated area(s) and then I let them dwell for a couple of minutes.
I grabbed a edgeless MF and lightly wiped the area clean of the TarX/tree sap.
This did the trick with flying colors and after inspecting the now decontaminated area's with my Brinkmann Swirl Finder, the process left no marring or swirls.
After stripping the sealant with CarPro's Eraser,I applied the CQ.
The vehicle came out great.
I thought I would post the performance of the TarX on the tree sap for anyone whom might else have a issue similar to mine(and has problems with the TarX sprayer heads).
I'm sorry I don't have pictures because none were taken but as many,I wish I would of.
Hope this will help somebody.
