Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a product to use on the rubber/ plastic that is on the roof of my truck in the rain gutter area, as well as the material that is on the bottom of the window on the outside, and the rest of the black rubber stuff that is around the front and back windshield.

303 Aerospace Protectant is almost always a popular choice for plastics & trim, especially those exposed to sunlight.

WETS/UTTG.

Since you are new, that's Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant or Ultima Tire and Trim Guard.

I agree! I've grown fond of 303 as well. Doesn't have great durability but turns out nice, and isn't slippery on running boards.

For the rubber trim around the windows the Wolfgang vinyl and rubber seems to last a bit better.

I've not been able to try my bottle of UTTGP yet, but being 'polycharged' I expect it should be AWESOME for rubber trim. Although it has a terribly bad solvent smell to it!

Will be experimenting with various dilutions of PERL this Saturday on a 2010/2011 Tacoma with tons of heavily neglected plastic trim and a really mistreated roll-up hard type black vinyl tonneau cover. From early tests of PERL I think it's going to be a God send! I did a few shots on some hard plastic trim earlier in the week and was impressed. Then did a 5:1, 3:1, and 1:1 quick 'one-shot' with the sprayer on a uncleaned, unwashed, totally untouched space saver tire to see how it would seal, change color, and protect. At 5:1 it clearly sealed the rubber while not adding a lot of color difference. Moving to 3:1 it added a nice sheen and a darkening of the rubber along with a sure 'feel' as if it were sealed somewhat. Then at 1:1 it is downright shiny (not glossy) and very much 'blacker' than it was, almost like it has been varnished. (Didn't touch it at all after one quick spray, as I wanted to see just what would happen.)

Doesn't smell bad either. Actually it doesn't smell AT ALL! :dblthumb2:

I use Sonus Total Eclipse, I am pleased with the results.

For a while all I have used for everything is either Wolfgang exterior trim sealant and ultima trim and tire guard . on my truck being a stepside I have a lot of plastic molding along with the wiper cowl . I just picked up some solution finish that I am gonna try on wiper cowl , and then I'm gonna try gtechniq c4 on my truck bed molding . I recently just opticoated parts of my truck so I tried that on a piece of trim . it darkened good but after it dried it just went back to its faded self , not as bad as before though .

Ive found its good to have a few different trim products since some work better with other types of trim. For instance i mainly use UTTG as my main trim product but found it sucks on very smooth trim surfaces and streaks like crazy for me. For those areas i have been using Optimum Tire Shine with great results.
