I just got my trizact 5k disc, its like a disc of thin foam, would I still need the soft interface pad or would it be safe just to use as is?

You can choose to use as is. The interface pad helps contour to individual panels easier. As well as less aggressive bite with the extra interface pad in between.

IF YOU'VE NEVER USED A DA TO SAND EVER IN YOUR LIFE, GET THE INTERFACE PAD! Seriously, get the interface pad if you won't sand by hand.
