Trying to decide on a swirl remover

Which product will remove swirls the best? I think I have it down to two products, unless someone else tells me otherwise. M105 or 3M Perfect-it-3000 swirl mark remover?

I also already have M205 to finish up after.
 
do you have any pictures of what you are working on?

make?

I would go for something with diminishig abrassives, like menzerna(SIP, power finish).205 didn't finish down good at all, it left marring on my black highlander. 106FA and 85RD worked like a charm. Still get 105 for those tough jobs.
 
I don't have any pictures. It is a red gmc yr 2000. The swirls are pretty bad.
 
Generally speaking, the clear on a gmc should be on the harder side so 105/205 should work well for you.

softer paints generally like diminishing abrasive polishes like menz (lexy definitely likes power finish/super finish)
 
man that flex will probably knock a lot of the swirls out in one pass with a pretty mild remover, wouldn't it?

I'd get both, M105 and Menzerna SIP, one is an aggressive compound and the other is a medium polish. The M205 is a finishing polish, with this collection, a rotary buffer and a good selection of pads you'll have a great collection of tools.

Menzerna PO85RD would be another tool to add to your collection.

I'll second Mike. On a car with heavy swirls and scuffs I like Meg's UC, which I'm told is quite similar to 105 but with less dusting and caking probs and a longer work time. I also use it by hand around door handles to remove fingernail scratches. Works great; haven't found anything it won't tackle... yet. For moderate to light swirls and scratches I use Wolfgang TSR. Follow up with a good final polish like Menz 106 or WG FG. I haven't gone the final step to jeweling with PO85RD yet, but give me time....:buffing::buffing:

Thanks everyone for the help!! I just put in an order for M105 and megs uc. This should take care of the swirls.

I just did a black 20011 Mustang GT that had alot of DISO's from the dealer prep. I used M105 with an LC light Cutting pad, and M205 with an LC polishing pad. All the swirls and minor scratches were gone. I finished up with some Poorboys Black Hole glaze and Megs Gold Class Carnauba X2. The car looks better then new. The machine was a Flex 3401VRG
