About three weeks ago I cleaned my tires and applied the VRP and last that long but want to remove it all and apply a fresh coat.
I used full strength APC about 3 times and it's still beading.
It's one of the best tire dressing I've ever used, the tired still have that dark look to them but would love to get down to the rubber to clean them well.
Or should I just add another coat of the VRP?

Use a wheel cleaner. APC is good but it wil only get you so far sometimes. At least with a wheel cleaner you know it's strong.

I'll try Meg's Wheel and tire cleaner being I have a bottle.
Thanks for the tip:)

Taking tire shine off tires is a multiple step process in my opinion. Use a apc at 1:4 ratio until you see nothing but white suds

APC doesn't clean dressing off tires very well IME. All it took was my first time with Tuff Shine to discover this. In an attempt to save the TS Tire Cleaner, I scrubbed, scrubbed, and scrubbed with APC+. Then, when I thought the tires were clean, I hit them with the TS Tire Cleaner. Boy, was I wrong.

So much crud and dirt came out of those tires after APC+ I couldn't believe it. Then, I just started buying the TS Tire Cleaner by the gallon, because I realized its far superior to APCs and a huge time saver.

Degreasers to a fair job at tire cleaning as well. Meg's Super Degreaser and LA Totally Awesome Work well.

IMO, you don't have to get every last bit of dressing off the tire every time if your just going to re-apply. Just get enough off until your convinced its fairly clean.

Never had any luck with cg trim dressings. I've given up hope for that section

Silk Shine is amazing on interiors and will last 1-2 weeks on tires, but rain will dull it significantly, yet it will still look darker than undressed.

Why do you want to take it off before applying a new coating? If it's clean, I don't understand the issue.

I like what I am reading about it though, durability seems excellent. Is this a water based product or petrolium distillate?

I've always removed it after 2-3 weeks, even though the tire looks clean doesn't mean it really is IMO.
I'm surprised how well the CG'S VRP bonds to the tire and very pleased.
For anyone who says it doesn't last well for me it does, more than I expected:dblthumb2:

I would recommend Mothers Back to Black Tire Renew.

I've done my own testing as well and found just the opposite. The TS Tire Cleaner trumps APCs and degreasers every time. I saw that post where someone said Adam'sif APC is worked better than TS Tire Cleaner. I find it hard to believe.

Its pretty well known and accepted that the TS Tire Clear Coat will peel if there are any "left overs" of old dressings or dirt bedded in the tire. Therefore, since the coating sticks for me, I know I'm getting the tire 100% clean. While a darkening of the foam when cleaning can be a sign the tire isn't perfectly clean, who is to say its not just the APC chemical itself that is darkening?

I have cleaned tires with various APCs and afterwards a whole bunch of dirt and dressing comes out with TS Cleaner. I think its mainly old dressings that the TS Cleaner works so well at removing, since its specifically designed to do this on rubber. I know the TS cleaner is working 100%, because if it wasn't the coating won't stick right.

Perhaps, but all I know is I cleaned until TS stayed white. Sprayed Adam's and got brown. Sprayed Adam's again and it stayed white. Sprayed TS again and it remained white.

I feel like tires are very tricky because everyone deals with them differently. After hearing that opc took brown off the tires when d101 was used undiluted several times blew my mind. Tuff thre cleaner is awesome but I've switched to mothers foaming wheel and tire cleaner. It's price and availability are too good compared to tuff and it has proven to work for me at least
