Turn Off Email Notifications for Thanks and Likes in vBulletin



The questions was asked,

How to turn off e-mail notifications every time someone "Thanks" you for a reply or "Likes" your reply for a thread on the forum.


I think the method I show in the pictures below should work.

I normally get these e-mail notifications but I just turned them off - so I'll find out if it's working over the course of the next few hours.

With 223 notifications, I'm surprised you don't leave yours "off", Mike.

Thank you very much Mike but I had already turned both of those off so I wouldn’t get the thread notification emails. I also changed it so I wouldn’t automatically subscribe to threads I posted in. But then I received emails for Thanks. So I don’t think it is those settings but I won’t know until I mention something pithy and helpful and someone gives me Thanks again.

I did some searching for this topic in Goggle, found that there is no GLOBAL setting in the Admin Panel.

Did some more Google searching and found the info I posted via screen shots above.

If the above does not work - I can escalate this to our vB Mechanic.

Just let me know...

If someone will "Like" and Thank" me for this post I can find out if the changes I made for my profile are working.

Just an FYI. I received two emails with Likes even with both (verified just now) of those settings turned off above (Disable Notifications and Disable Emails). If the devs can come up with a fix, that would be great but otherwise I’ll setup an email filter for those emails. Thanks for your help Mike on this issue but even more so with everything you share on detailing as well as how you treat people.

Now this is a conundrum?

I stopped getting ALL e-mail notifications for "Likes" and "Thanks".

I'll escalate to our vb mechanic on Monday.
