Turtle Wax Pure Beads...anyone interested

Like evo77 just mentioned....I applied this today to the trailblazer and it was 10 times grabbier than my truck application.
Also once again....surface feels less slick after than before application.
Have about 1/3 bottle left......cobwebs will be gathering on the trigger before I use it again....

This is what I don't understand. The ONLY thing this product does well is water beading, which is hardly a standout feature considering just about every modern spray sealant exhibits great water beading. By all accounts, it absolutely sucks at everything else, from ease of application to gloss and slickness levels. So why all the hype for a one-trick pony?

I had to skip and fast forward through bits, the high pitched scream from his pressure washer was driving me crazy, but I didn't hear any mention of grabbiness, application was easy he said, and longevity seemed okay, so it might be something I try, if it ever comes here.
 
The torture test is certainly not without its flaws which Brian freely admits. Could have significantly different results under natural circumstances.
 
Either way, it's still very impressive results.

Only thing I can think of to cause the grabbiness is the humidity, it has been 65% plus here for a few weeks...
 
It has to be somewhat grabby to stick to the surface. It's usually a compromise between durability and slickness.
 
I think I am going to hold off on getting on the "hype train" for this TW product. I will wait for it to go on sale. The lack of slickness and "grabbiness" when applying is kind of a no go for me. I want a product that is slick to the touch afterwards with decent gloss and beading. I don't care if it holds up for a hundred washes because I typically apply something every time I wash.
 
Another test,
For- easy application and longevity, it passed 100 washes, but he clarifies that.
Against- not as much darkening effect, and not as slick as some.

Once again no mention of grabbiness. Said you could possibly overload the paint if you reapplied too soon, but didn't mention if that would be a serious problem. He said it didn't increase gloss at all, but I heard him say it's says it's ok for use on matte finishes, so that probably explains zero gloss enhancement.

 
For me I did notice it made the paint not slick like it was before, no doubt about that when I used it. Now because it's been so hot the past 2 weeks the touch-free wash has been really getting used and the beading is nuts with this, so it makes for a great topper for me.

I think it's weird that they took so much time inbetween a new product release and THIS is what comes out, it certainly has people talking which is a good thing for Turtle Wax!

MY APPLICATION THOUGHTS...
Package arrived this afternoon. Truck was clean. 86 out with 55% humidity. Waited till the sun drew behind the clouds. Grabbed a clean MF and proceeded. About 2-3 sprays per panel. Also applied to glass. Nice sprayer! Really did not notice the grabby feeling as mentioned. Buffed off without effort. Product is foolproof to apply. After final inspection zero streaks. Did not really add more gloss that I could tell. Waiting for the next rain to see this beading. To be fair this was applied over several coats of WAX AND DRY PLUS.
TW site quote: Ceramic Spray Coating was designed for slickness and gloss, whereas Pure Bead is more for hydrophobic/chemical resistance.

Ive watched several review videos on Pure Beads. Most pretty much said the same; no slickness but not especially grabby and pretty good hydrophobics. I guess still to be seen is the durability.
One review mentioned Turtle Wax hit on using an active ingredient that hasn’t been used before in a detailing product. It has a chemical name a mile long. Stated it is used in textiles and some building materials as a preservative and fungicide. So Turtle Wax apparently found a chemical used in other industries and adapted it to a detailing product.
If interested just Google “ what is the active ingredient in Turtle Wax Pure Beads”.

Guess its too much to hope that the absence of si02 in Pure Beads is going to be any easier to keep ones towels from becoming hydrophobic. I assume due to its improved hydrophobics it could make towels even harder to remain absorbant.
 
I saw this comment on a video review of Pure Beads. Not sure if it's true, but found it interesting. The beading is top notch for a $20 bottle. Could be a good once per month product if you want an inexpensive hydrophobic product that helps when you air dry. I'll likely pass on this one though.

One week since application. No rain. Wash today. Truck seemed to stay cleaner all week. I will give it props for beading. I think this will serve as a topper.
