Like an idiot I dumped my wash and wax into my old prestone jug but there was still prestone in there.

Is some kind of chemical reaction going to happen or is something going to explode.

Lol I actually not sure what to do.

Just out of curiosity why would you dump wash-n-wax mix into a Prestone container? Not being difficult, just trying to follow the logic. In another post you stated you're thinking of starting a detail business. Before working on other peoples vehicles, I might suggest you purchasing this book: Mike Phillips? The Complete Guide to a Show Car Shine iBook - Download specifically Page 102, "Working Clean".

Another great plug for the IDA Certification, in which during the cert process you are tested on OSHA and Safety Standards, MSDS sheets, proper labeling and proper storage of chemicals.

Visitor is correct, dump that product. Take it to a local auto-parts store and discard it before you use it on some poor chaps vehicle.
For $15.00 you can go to the camping section of your nearest WM and get these containers to do your concentrate mixes:

Hahaha I know I know how it might seem pretty idiotic and beginner mistake but there was a situation in the house, I just thought my jug was empty at home that's all. I dropped my Sonax plastic care all on my ceramic floor, as a matter of fact I'm still trying to find it's MSDS. Hopefully it doesn't damage my floor. Dad is gonna kill me hhahaha

But it hasn't heat up or anything so I'll bring it tomorrow morning to Can tire.

EDIT: I feel like I was missunderstood. I wasn't mixing anything, just need a sprayer and wanted to get rid of my waterless wash and dump it in an empty container.

you can always go to your local supermarket and buy a gallon water jug (around $1), empty it and pour your chemical in that until you find a better replacement...

Yeah but I think you don't understand my concern or I did not explain properly. Because even if I do that the prestone is still mixed with the wash.

I just wanted to know if any reaction could happen between prestone and waterless wash. Like I wasn't planning on mixing my waterless wash, I just wanted to get rid of it.

sorry if i didn't clarify more clearly, i meant next time you have to put any chemical into an empty container rather than use one that already had something in it...

This sounds like a thread for FUNX60 (Bob) to reply too... If nothing has happened yet, you're probably fine. If unsure you can always contact your local FD.

I'm no chemist, but I'll all but guarantee that pouring a water-based wash product into Ethyl Glycol (the Prestone) which is diluted with water regularly, is harmless.

At the marina I used to work for, we had 55 gallon drums of old Anti freeze, gas, oil, diesel etc. to be recycled. Boaters would walk into the shop (without permission) and even though the drum was marked "USED ANTI FREEZE ONLY" would dump oil, gas & diesel into it.

Point being, if that didn't cause a reaction, I'm pretty sure your wash product won't either.

In the Madison, WI area which is pretty darn uptight ECO conscious, it safe to flush anti-freeze down the toilet. It will be treated this way.

What's not cool is dumping it out so wildlife or pets will lap it up.

LOL I was wondering why you would want to mix Prestone and ONR :)

For mixing my chemicals, I use empty windshield washer containers. They are gallon size which is very good and even if I don't manage to remove every molecule of the product from them, windshield washer is basically alcohol and cleaners, so it won't hurt any of the stuff I put in there. But I always do at least 3 rinse cycles before I mix a new product in them just to prevent any contamination.

IMO:
•Chemical reaction(s) have/will/are happening:
-At the very least, the freeze-point of
the WW&W product has been lowered.

•Might just have concocted one hellava
windshield washer reservoir fluid!

Sounds like a good Canadian product................

I'm sure the FD would love to get that call. I know I would if I was a fireman.

Who puts coolant in the windshield washer reservoir Not me.

Everyone’s talking about coolant/antifeeze.

Any room in your coolant reservoir?
