I'm overdue for a wash and I've been trying to think of a good way to clean my Sorento's undercarriage of salts and other gunk.

I usually have used Simple Green full strength, let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it off. However, I've recently read that the Simple Green might accelerate corrosion with some type of metals. I certainly don't want that. So, maybe dilute the Simple Green or use something else?

Any insight would be appreciated!

Almost any APC should work fine, I've even used dish soap in a foam gun to clean the underneath of my cars ... the ones I didn't have undercoated.

Do you own or have access to a pressure washer?

I don't own a pressure washer, but do have access to a coin-op one down the street from my house.

Use a quality apc. (not simple green)

Simple green like others are made to dilute, so you diluting it probably isn't gonna help much.

What makes a "quality" APC different from Simple Green/diluted Simple Green?

You'll do well with D101. I would start off by diluting it 1:1 when working on the undercarriage. If that dosent work you can move up to full strength.

Ken,

That's kinda neat! I've seen people use lawn sprinklers to similar effect :)

Foam underneath if you can or spray with hose, then quality apc with a speedmaster brush. I haven't seen an undercarriage that hasn't worked on.

Do you guys actually crawl under a vehicle and spray APC all over, then reach in every nook and crannie with a nozzle on a hose? Or do you just kinda stick your arm under the sides/front/rear and spray back and forth, like more of a general rinse?

In the past I had gone so far as to jack the vehicle up as high as I could get it on jack stands, soak the undercarriage with Simple Green, scrub whatever I could get to with a brush, let it soak for a few minutes and then thoroughly hose it all down.

These days, I'll probably use a pump sprayer to thoroughly soak with a D101 solution and then thoroughly spray down with a hose with the vehicle on the ground or maybe on jacks if I have time.
