Ok so I am going to make an undercarriage washer set up and would like your guys advice.

Right now I am using one of these:

It's a water broom with four jets and it's good at getting off loose dirt and such but not very good at getting off caked on grime.

What I am going to do is get a downstream chemical injector for the power washer between the gun and water broom so I can spray something onto the undercarriage, let it sit, then power wash if off without even bending over.

I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on what to use chemical wise? Just a heavy degreaser or acid or what? I am looking forward to putting this togeather and showing it off for you guys! :xyxthumbs:

I'd say use some simple green and spray all over under the vehicles and let it dwell before spraying it, that works pretty decent at removing grime, oil and other stuff...

Hi Andrew,

I think the key here is to use an all purpose cleaner solution then allow it to sit in order to work. There are several quality products available through Autogeek that I'm sure will fit the bill perfectly...

Pressure washers produce a very potent stream of water that should power through just about any grease or grime effortlessly when using the right nozzle.

Great idea by the way! :props:

I'd add a little soap to it to help it from running off.
Dawn soap comes to mine, it's a great degreaser so it should work well with the Simple Green or any other All Purpose Cleaner.
Meguiar's makes a good one.

I would suggest pressure washing first to remove the heaviest caked on stuff and then let most of the water run off and then applying the cleaner. I think simple green is a good idea, I would also suggest purple power. After that has has some time to sit I would pressure wash it all off.

Thank you, thank you very much...........in my Elvis voice....

I would imagine a good apc or citrous degreaser would have plenty of strength on normally soiled vehicles if dwelling time is allowed. Prior to pressure washing. Can you tell use how strong your pressure washers PSI is?

I would also imagine the vehicle's lower portion would need to be resealed if not coated due to excess cleaner spraying up the sides of the car.

I am using a 2700 psi washer at 2.3 gpm
Which with four nozzles it's not very powerful thinking of plugging two of them to make it more powerful. What do you guys think?

curious to know what chemical injector you are attaching to the pw

Have not got one yet, do you guys have any suggestions on what downstream chemical injector I should use? A cheap one, expensive one? I see some for $200 and some at $30 and seem the same, what's up with that? :buffing:

I think you should close 2 and you will be fine. The reason i say this, I have a circular concrete cleaning disc that spins a bar with 2 nozzles and my pressure washer is 3k psi.

Simple Green HD is aluminum safe and can be had from Amazon for $14 with free Prime shipping. A superb APC for wheel wells.

I might steer clear of chemicals. Power washing definitely can be useful, but consider suspension bushings and such that may creak and make noise after the lubricants are degreased.
