Anyone have an issue with their backing plate on the G15 being slightly unlevel? It looks like the backing plate wobbles, but it's down firm and tight. I haven't called customer support about it because I don't have the polisher on me right now. I left my stuff at my parents house and I'm back at my apartment.

Make sure it is indexed correctly first, then check with customer service

Did the polisher ever drop onto the floor and maybe land on the BP?

My 1st G21 was like you describe...

My 2nd one, not so much... At the end of the day, I don't really think it made much of any difference, at least none that I could notice.

The washer is slotted and must fit in the slot before adhering the backing plate. If the washer is not seated right, that could be one possibility.
Try resenting the backing washer and backing plate. If not right, GG will take care of you for sure! They've taken great car of many of us here on AGO, including myself.

lifetime warranty, i just ordered the g fifteen, i cant wait to get it, i have so much detailing stuff right now i almost have to start detailing for dollars this spring. i think i can use a one step and get at least two fifty per car, maybe three hundred?

i might go with that essence crap then a coat of souveran on top of it. i might start selling bottles of souveran spray wax for thirty bucks a bottle to my customers?

The washers were installed correctly and I made sure the backing plate was in its slot too. It came this way from the factory and remained that way after I tried to reseat it and add the washers. I guess I'll use the warranty.

Yes, mine was exactly like that! I'm guessing you sent it in for a warranty swap?

Did you have to pay for the shipping?

There was a couple of other minor issues with my 1st unit as well, everything was taken care of at no charge.

Cool. What were your other issues?

Also, you said your second unit wasn't tilted 'as much'. Does that mean your new one still did slightly?

There was something wrong with the counterweight, and something else was off, but I can't remember what it was but there was 3 things..

As far as my new 1 being tilted? Hold on I'll check in a bit, I'm getting ready to use it, but I don't think I have a washer installed on it atm so I'll take a picture of it once I install it and check.

Here's my polisher with the 6" backing plate. Is it plum? Not 100% if we're striving for perfection, but darn near...

But in hindsight, my 1st machine ran just fine.

Here's a picture of my 1st polisher. You can see the difference.

Both of those pics were taken without a washer installed.

So long as the backing plate doesn't touch the shroud with one of the washers installed I'll be fine. I assume yours doesn't now?

Also, how could you tell something was wrong with the counter weight?

Correct. My only concern was that if I run it without a washer it'll not only be touching the shroud [as it should be] but it'll be touching the shroud at an angle meaning it could affect the overall rotation and balance, sort of like how tires wear uneven when they need aligning, except totally different. You know what I'm trying to say. Lol.

But since I never saw or felt any negative effects from it I think the power of the machine rendered it a non factor.

Correct, my current polishers backing plate is only touching the shroud because I choose to run it without the washer 90% of the time. When I put the washer in it won't touch the shroud.
