I was wondering if I'm the only one with this problem, but I've found that since starting detailing at home a few years ago as a hobby to now where its a full blown love and hopefully soon to be small business, that I have products laying around that I've never used because I upgraded my arsenal of products so quickly. For me I know I have some Armor All and a few low quality car soaps. So I pose the question to everyone, do you notice this with yourself and if so what do you have thats just left over because of better product choices you have now?

We should start a goodwill for unused detailing products, that or Armor All should start a by back program. I probably have 4 or 5 bottles of their stuff that will eventually just get dumped.

There is a give away thread on AG somewhere, maybe you can do that? Or maybe make some samples for customers.

I think if Armor All had a buy back program then detailers would bankrupt the company. It makes me sad when I see a newcomer buy their stuff, always try to stop it when I see it.

I try my best to sell locally or just dump it to the drain :)

Use it! Armor all is a water based product and works fine on tires and fender wells. Use the soaps too, just add a little more than you would the better quality stuff. Especially if you are starting a business. Why trip over dollars along the way. Your clients will not care what type of soap you used to wash the car.

:iagree:

There is also a thread for trading. You post what you have and what you would like to trade for. Personally I've given away probably 500.00 worth of products to forum members and a couple neighbors.

I've got boxes and boxes of crap products that really didn't work out, can't give the stuff away, especially to the geeks on this site.

I guess you really know you shouldn't have bought it when you can't give it away lol

I agree. All the plastic/rubber dressings that I don't like, I use inside the fender wells and undercarriage. It doesn't last long but it is a cheap way to use up the products and save the good stuff for more visible trim. When I see people that have old bottles of Armorall lying around I ask for it. They think I'm crazy but I dump it all into a gallon jug and keep a quart sprayer full on the shelf. I spray the undercarriage of my Jeep before an off road trip or events like Jeeptoberfest. When I get home the cleaning is soooo much easier and I haven't paid for Armorall in over ten years.

What was so bad you can't even give away. I'm really curious now

Not that the stuff was so bad, as it all does work. It's either local sludge that's difficult to work with or to remove after working, or boutique stuff that had less than desired shelf life and separated or turned to a water like consistency. Just haven't gotten around to tossing it yet.

Yeah, I was wondering some of the same questions, because I have a brand-new bottle of Pinnacle Rinse-less wash, (64 ounce), that just sits on my shelf because I use my waterless wash more. I was wondering if AG would have some type of buyback program or return for store credit for products that we buy and don't use. Wishful thinking but just wondering.

Find a local charity car wash and give it to them...obviously not the compounds and polishes but soap and armorall.
