This was my first time using an AIO and the results were very nice. How much more agressive is the D151 vs the poly? One thing I wasn't crazy anout was the fact that it seemed to load up quickly on the pad? I would say I could get two doors out of a pad before I had to change it. At first I thought I was using too much so I tried different amounts on all the pads I used (4) and the end result was the same. The pads I was using were the orange CCS pads. Anyone else get this? I would like to stock up on an AIO so I was wondering how much different the poly is over the D151. Thanks

My experience with Poliseal and 151 are that they are both pretty much pad dependent. 151 probably has a little more cut but I love the way Poliseal works. I haven't had much of a problem with it gumming up pads but I clean them on the fly every couple of panels. If I have the pad washer out, I will clean and dry the pads a couple of times during a polish session.

I think this will be my plan of action next time. Would you say overall that the poly is the better to go AIO's then?? I'm sure both have their place, but if you were to pick one could you?

If you have some Polish II on hand you can do a mix, about 70/30 poli-seal with polish II if you want to increase cut. I haven't tried it yet but I mixed a bottle of it last night. Now I just need a volunteer.

I have only used poli-seal with Meguiars MF pads (no foam), and I did experience some gumming of the pad, but I was working on a vehicle 15 years old that had never been polished to my knowledge and had been stored outside for the last 9 years. I went through three pads on a full size truck with topper. The compressed air and brush kept the pad working well, but I would change out after they start looking dirty.

Having not used used 151, it is my understanding poli-seal gives more protection if you are looking for a true one step but 151 will cut better. I don't know if the 70/30 mix will make the cut similar but it is not suppose to interfere with the protection poli-seal offers. I followed the poli-seal up with collinite 845 for winter on the truck I did so I cannot comment on actual durability.

Poliseal brings off a lot of stuff as it is a fantastic cleaner. Your pad may very well have just been clogging from the cleaning effect if you are sure you weren't using too much. One more thing that loads the pad with PS is too much heat. What speeds/machine were you using?

CCS Pads use open cell technology. Therefore they end up soaking up a lot more product. Try using it with a LC Flat pad which uses closed cells. That should help you determine if its the amount of product or the pad. I'm thinking its the pad :)

i figured out for me there is no point in a true one step product because i end up using a wax afterward anyways so i just reach for the meguiars m205 finishing polish or optimum polish II and put a coat of wax on, with the cars i use one or the other on the owners could not be more happy and was not expecting the outcome they get from a one step polish. but that's just my suggestion if your doing a one step polish. however for a true one step i like xmt 360 it surprisingly removes a fair amount of defects and leaves a nice gloss, really haven't tested durability. i still have 2 bottles one full but opened and one opened and used very little of lol

If I had to pick one, it would definitely be Poliseal. The GPS is also very nice with similar characteristics and results. The 151 has its place for sure. I know there are a lot of guys on this forum that praise the heck out of it. I think it is true for all products. Some work better with your car and your style. For me, I have tried so many products but the Optimum line fit my style best. If I was trying to make a living at this, I would probably go back to my gallon of 151 and figure out how to make it work.

Since I was going thru pads I tried different amounts and even misting the pad with detailers mist just to try different techniques. I'm not really complaining because the product worked great on the car. It was just a matter of me swapping out pads often or maybe running them in the pad bucket.

In terms of cut where does the D151 fall into? I don't have a thickness gauge. Is this something that could be used every year? Even the poly seal for that matter?

D151 has a lot more cut then poli seal. Poli seal is great for very fine marring and a great cleaning product.

I know what you mean. I use more pads with poli seal and D151 compared to a normal polish...it's gotta be the cleaners along with the materials removed that clog them faster.
