I ran out of soap today, so I augmented the last little bit in the bottle with a capful of AIO cuz I remembered reading here on the forum and also on the AG site that AIO made a good car wash.

Does anybody know if using AIO like this will strip off any of the KSG and Collinite I have so laboriously sealed up the paint with? Didn't think to ask this until I was already done washing.

On the upside, the wash was very easy and the car looks fantastic...

it will not strip ... and the wierd thing is there is no foam. I tried it once, never gone back !

I do not think it will take anything off..as the wash process is very gentle..you are not rubbing like you would doing a paint clean with straight AIO...

So I would say it is safe to use in that situation..seen a few posts where people use it...and no harm done

LOL! Yes, it was very weird...BUT IMO it washed just as soft as a nice foamy soap and left my car slick and shiny clean.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I doubt AIO will replace my car shampoo (Megs Gold or NXT my next to try), but in a pinch it does very, very well. I was severely bummed that I might have to use Dawn or a dollop of Tide until I remembered my AIO! :D

so all you need is a capful of AIO and whatever is left in your soap jar to wash your car? i didn't think you could wash with AIO.

learn something new everyday

Schnell-alternate: (Klasse Wash) Wash vehicle, apply "All-in-One" to entire vehicle while it’s still wet using a damp 100% cotton towel, re-wash, rinse, and dry vehicle.

Never tried it, and probably never will. I have enough of car wash soap (a lot of different brands) already.

thanh--yep. But I must say, looking at my car today I'm pretty jazzed at the subtle difference that capful of AIO made to a quick wash and dry. It looks very nice. I think I'm going to keep adding a capful of AIO even when I have enough suds. :D

I am definitely going to have to try that. Exactly how much did you use - one cap? How much car shampoo/soap?
:righton:

Lauren--I didn't use much soap this time because I didn't have much. Maybe a capful of soap (which means almost no suds :( ) with a capful of AIO. What I'm going to try next is a nice bucket of suds with one cap of AIO dumped in for good measure. I doubt the amount of soap you use with it makes a difference...it's the addition of the AIO that counts. But then, I could be wrong. We'll just have to see! LOL

Seriously, though, it's day 2 after washing and I still think the AIO made a big difference in the shine...the car feels cleaner, too.

How can you ran out of car wash shampoo? I have about 2 gallons (Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Dp Xtreme Foam Formula 1/2 gallon, Poorboy's Suds, Menzerna, Blackfire, Optimum, and Meguiar's NXT). Yes, I have more shampoo for my car, then I have for my head (about 1/3 of 1 liter bottle left of Matrix Biolage).

ha

*Please* don't abuse me, I already gave myself enough grief about it already. ;) I have no excuse, except that I thought I had more and didn't want to go to Discount Auto cuz I didn't know they had any decent OTC washes. After reading the recent shampoo thread I realize they do. But now I'm hooked on washing with AIO! :D

How did you like AIO as a wash anyway?

Um...are you SURE you want to know?? Cuz I'll tell you, but only if you're really sure... ;)

Could AIO be used in a foam gun? Has anyone tried that way.. I was thinking of mixing a little SSW, #00, and AIO all in the bottle.. thoughts? Feed back please

I tried it the other day. Added it to NXT wash. To me it made the suds go flat. I didn't see any difference in the end result also. I see no reason to waste my AIO on this so I doubt I'll be doing it again.

I really like AIO and have used it to clean about everything....including the Kitchen Sink (did a great job) but I don't think I'll be using it in my wash water for my car.

2-bucket wash, or foam gun? I'm curious if it will even "work"... I have a full, unused bottle of AIO, so I just "MAY" give it a shot..

Sorry about that, it was a bucket wash. AIO is great stuff, I mainly use it as a cleaner.
