Using homemade products

Interesting. as I said, I won't use it I was just talking.

Thanks for the input though.

Adding apc to a foam lance is an effective way to strip wax in my experience. Often it's cheaper than having a dedicated product for that purpose. If not cheaper, more readily available.

My experience is that any half decent LSP will not be stripped by something like you have described. What I have shown on several occasions is that this and similar approaches are inclined to leave residual films which make it look like the LSP is stripped when it really is just hidden below the film. Certainly, none of the LSP products we make will be stripped by a bit of APC in the foam lance. It might be worth having a search on the topic as several members have been able to reproduce my results and the concept of residual surfactant films is beginning to gain acceptance. That said, it is possible that you have stripped an LSP with the above but the reality of that is that it's time to find a better LSP ;)

Thanks bud. Again thanks for the response.

I regularly use a carnuba wax that is generally going to give less durability in lieu of me enjoying the application. I probably wax my personal cars once every 45 days and every other time use a cleaner wax.

I've searched the forum probably more than you have and definitely am aware of the tests that you are speaking of, and how the IPA wipe down shows that dawn isn't doing anything. Again, for what it's worth, Zep orange or s100/p21s total auto wash in my lance with dg 901 has worked for me on s100 paste wax or other carnuba a that are already weak.

I really doubt this conversation is going to go any further though. You're a chemist of some sort and I'm just someone who likes to have a great time doing this. You're probably right, but that's why I was disclosing that it was just my experience.

Sorry, but I cannot divulge that. You will appreciate that my customers may not want anyone to know that they do not make their own products and definitely wouldn't want people potentially bypassing them to go to me. We sell exclusively to wholesale and resale, unlike the majority of actual manufacturers, we do not and will not have an end user line. That is one of our key business concepts - whilst other manufacturers are competing directly with their wholesale/resale/relabel customers, we promise not to play such poaching games!
