Got some Swirl X from you and a couple of Orange pads to do minor correction on my 2014 red Mustang. I thought I would just check out any application tips and came across an instruction video from Meguiars where they are applying it by hand.

Should I not use my Porter on this or and do it by hand? I guess one reason the instructional video shows them doing it by hand is because more people do it way.

Now that I think about, it sounds like a stupid question, but I can use my Porter, right? Just trying to remove some swirls and didn't think they were severe enough to merit Ultimate Compound, which I apply with a Porter.

Also, I think I should probably be using yellow pads, but the orange should work.

swirlx can be used by hand and/or DA. do a test spot with the orange pads that you have (least aggressive first) and see where it gets you. remember to move the polisher slow (moving it too fast will not give you desired results). here's a video below to check out..

SwirlX works great with orange pads. On softer paints, I'd opt for a white polishing pad though.

It's a very thick product, and sort of a pain to get out of the bottle. I like to start out with four drops of polish around the circumference of the pad, and reload with two or three.

It doesn't have a whole heck of a lot of cut to it, but it can remove some minor defects, and bring up the gloss.

I use speed 5 or 6 on the PC with it.

Are there any fillers in SwirlX? I've had a bottle unopened on my shelf for over a year. Might take her for a spin, but not interested in fillers.

here's a good read from when the product was first introduced..
