Does this product have a lot of UV protection? I am doing my whole car which includes a carbon fiber hood (and soon to be grills) and am wondering if I need to try to top the OptiCoat2.0 on the hood with something else?

If you're already doing the rest of the car, why not the hood also? Is carbon fiber any weaker than paint? I would opti-coat it. It's advertised as having better UV resistance than factory clears---whatever that's worth.

Carbon fiber is usually gel coated instead of clear coat. Hopefully someone has tried this before and can chime in.

I do plan on doing the whole car. I was wondering if I need to top the opticoat on the hood with something else to help fight uv rays.

Carbon fiber will yellow and degrade over time with exposure to uv rays.

I have spoke with the manufacturer and this is gel coated AND clear coated.
