Absolute Perfection Auto Detailing had a 2000 GMC Sierra in on Saturday for our Full Detail package. The exterior received a wash, clay, and sealant before the interior was addressed.

The vehicle belongs to a smoker and has over 300k miles on the clock. That is a lot of smoking and the interior proved it. Due to health issues, the owner is being forced to quit smoking and his family wanted to treat him to a cleaned up vehicle.

Here is the truck after the exterior was cleaned and protected.

The interior took over 2 and a half hours. Armed with a PowerFlite vacuum, brushes, air compressor gun, McCullough steamer, Megs APC+, and a LOT of microfiber towel, I went at it!

These pictures show a huge transformation of the interior.

The seats were not supposed to be brown! APC+ and a microfiber wrapped around the steamer head worked wonders on these seats.

The driver's door cleaned up well!

Passenger rear door, much improved!

Remember! Interiors need love too!

Check out my page on Facebook and "like" it to keep up with the work I do!

Thank you for looking!

Excellent work I really like how you brought the interior from the dead, and revived it completely

It's amazing what a great detailer can do:) fantastic job buddy:)

Does it still stink?

I have had several cars that had incredible levels of tobacco funk that took forever to remove.

I steamed, and extracted all the fabric in the car. including the headliners and they still smelled like an ashtray. I had to use a foaming duct cleaner and leave my ozone generator inside the car for a full day. TWICE!

The previous owner had been a many pack a day smoker and after his cigs burned down he would put them out then toss them onto the carpet.
Grosser that cleaning a kiddy barf mom mobile.

I was wondering if you were able to take care of the odors from the smoke on all of the surfaces? You did not state if you used an ozone generator, and judging by the pictures, he smoked a lot inside the car.

I can't even imagine what it was like to sit in the truck prior to deconing it.
That is great work.

Thank you for the kind words everyone! The gentleman's son and daughter-in-law brought it to me and said, do the best you can with it. So that is what i did.

A lot of smoking was done in this truck! Did I remove all the smoke smell? No! I honestly do not think that would be possible without pulling the headliner, seats, and carpets and replacing them.

Unfortunately, I do not own an ozone machine yet.

While the smoke smell was still there, it was much more bearable. I recommended changing the in cabin air filter to help with the smell.

The headliner was already sagging in some areas, so I didn't dare touch the steamer to it. So all I did was spray APC+ and wipe with a towel.

While I was working on the exterior, I sprayed Dakota Non Smoke - odor remover, smoke odor eliminator, tobacco odor eliminator, odor remover, smoke odor remover, car odor eliminator, remove smoke on the inside so it would be more bearable for me to work on the interior of the truck later. After working on the interior, I sprayed again and let the A/C run on recirculate for a few minutes.

Upon pickup, the son could tell a huge improvement on the smell. Customer happy, I'm happy!

Thank you again for all the feedback!

Great work! Looks like brand new panels!!

Thank you!

Should`ve poured a bottle of CG Stripper Scent in there. Would`ve felt like an actual strip club. Lol.

LOL, I don't think stripper scent would have done anything in that truck, maybe last a couple minutes. But I'm pickin up what you are putting down :xyxthumbs: LOL

Great turn around on that, and in a short period of time also! A lot of people don't like doing interiors, but I enjoy doing the inside just as much as the outside.

Lol A.P.A.D. I wondered if anyone would.

I also love doing interiors. I feel that the customer enjoys them as much and are more apt to take care of once cleaned.

Yuck. Love the turnaround though.

It is definitely true. Had a client come to me over the weekend, she had her car detailed by a local detail shop the week prior. While the exterior was in OK condition she was disappointed at the the silicon smothered interior.

APC, steam, extraction made sure her tan seats/carpets were back to looking clean.

^^^ Agreed, I hate when people just slap on a thick dressing and dont properly clean. Same concept as putting good wax over a nasty car full of contaminants.
