Pretty cool stuff!!!

British researchers have created what they are calling the 'new black' - an alien material so black that it absorbs all but 0.035 percent of visual light, writes The International Business Times.
The 'Super Black' material is so dark that human eyes struggle to discern its dimension and shape - a phenomenon that gives an impression as though one was looking into a black hole. Also known as the "Ventablack," the dark material conducts heat seven and half times more effectively than copper, and the material is ten times stronger than steel. The material is said to be so dark that ordinary human eye cannot understand what it is seeing - in other words, the darkness effectively remains unseen as the eyes fail to communicate to the brain the visual it is seeing writes The International Business Times. Shapes, contours and dimensions are all lost, leaving the human eye looking at a void. If the material, created by Surrey NanoSystems, was used to make a black dresses, the wearer's head and limps would appear to be floating in a disembodied manner around a dress-like shape of hole, the Independent notes. Researchers 'grew' Ventablack on sheets of aluminum foil. When the foil was crinkled and uneven, the surface covered by the 'Super Black' still appeared to be completely smooth because of its massive light observing property.

Everyone would want a black car if it was an automotive finish.

Reminds me of the ship Zaphod Beeblebrox steals in the The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe.

That's really neat, thanks for posting! Fascinating. I'd like to see some of it sometime.

scary thought. Think of the massive increase of auto accidents! I would have to start believing when people tell me, "he came out of nowhere!"

Pfft..... I see it outside my house every day.

Usually honking and screaming.

Cool post though. ;)
