Here's the breakdown..older miata with vinyl top with stains.
I tried apc scrubbed with nail brush, Folex (I know for carpet but I threw a Hail Mary) poor boys vinyl cleaner/lexol leather cleaner (another Hail Mary) but nothing worked. Any idea to remove these stains? Here's a couple pics..
This may sound crazy, and you will have to test on an inconspicuous area first - but I would try Tuff Shine Tire Cleaner. Only reason I say that is because I've seen it pull some nasty stuff out of tires that were scrubbed "clean" with APCs first. Dunno if you have any on hand.
...But before you go that route, I'd head to your local BMW dealer and pick up some BMW Convertible Top Cleaner. They all have it and it's pretty good stuff. I think it's about $10. It's designed to clean fabric tops - so it should be safe on vinyl. I keep 2 bottles on hand. I always use this before I re-seal the top and it works quite well.
Another thing I would try is P21 TAW. Available locally at most Harley dealers. Test on an inconspicuous area as well.
Only issue is I have to get this job done tomorrow. I have
A variety of tire shines. I'll try a few see what I get. I don't want to send to much time cause I have get to compound/polish. Good thing though is it's a miata so not a lot of acreage to polish..
If you had some leather master ink transfer remover that might help through it may be mildew or the dye has or is starting to wear away.....just my eight cents
