VW's Leatherette, Alcantara Seat Covers (Jetta Booklet)

What are some of the better products to clean Leatherette and preserve?

Thank you for your time and help,
Respectfully,
Bill

The only thing I have used on mine so far is Wolfgangs Vinyl and Rubber Protectant. It didnt leave them greasy or slick looking. Buffing with a MF left a nice matte finish which I wanted. I do want to try Poorboys Leather Stuff next.

Or... you could just take my car salemens advice "you'll only ever need to use water"...

I have a 2012 CC; used Lexol within a few days after I purchased the car and was very impressed. I wanted something gentle that would not dry out the leatherette years from now. All of the research I performed seems to indicate Lexol will do no harm. I have not tried any boutique products; frankly don't want to. :-)

For the leather part you can use any lather product i personally like 1z leather care and leather masters. For the alcantara part use a specific cleaner for it, Leather Masters has a good one but rmr that alcantara is a fabric and a delicate one at that.

Coated leather (what you have in VWs) is clear coated and will not absorb anything so really you are protecting or "waxing" the clear coating on it from deterioration, a good leather protectant and regular cleaning will ensure long life.

I like Ultima Interior Shampoo best for cleaning all intterior and Ultima Interior Guard Plus for protection.
