If any VX 5000 steamer users could let me know how the unit has been long term and your overall feelings on it that would be appreciated. I ordered one yesterday morning.

Thanks

I have had a VX-5000 for over 5 years. It is rock solid. I use it to clean the tile floors in the house and just about everything inside the car.

Had mine going on 4 years. Has never failed me. Get much more use out of it then my extractor.

Thanks for the replies guy's. Do you have a cart for them? The one specifically for the VX is $200. Was thinking of getting something from Harbor Freight.

Let me ask you something first, are you planing on using this everyday? I own a auto detailing business in Maryland and have the vx5000 and we use it only on really dirty vehicles which don't really come around a lot normally we end up breaking this machine out on soccer mom mini vans or someone that has a lot of kids. Unless your turning over a solid 1-2 vehicles a day every day I would say save your money and invest in a decent polisher like a flex or rupes and buy some decent lc pads invest in things that you need to use on every vehicle no matter what unless your just a rich guy looking to spend your money and it's not an issue then knock yourself out deff buy it then. Just my .02

Just upgraded to the Flex 3401 and pads actually. I do 2-3 cars a week just part time. I will be using it for household stuff as well.

Have you considered a McCulloch steamer just to see how it might work out for you? It's a less expensive option ($200) but the equipment should last a couple years or more based on your usage. Their model MC1385 could also be used around the house. If you find steam helpful you can then get a more professional brand like the VXx5000.
