I just bought a new set of Nissan Oem carpet mats for my Maxima. However, the mats do not have a rubber heel pad, so the heel rest area carpet fibers get quickly ground down.

I was trying to figure out how I could make one myself. Not sure of where to get material. Don't have tools to stitch it in place which would be better, otherwise maybe hot melt glue?

Any ideas???

Thanks

Ok, looks like I just solved my own problem by googling.:xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs:

I didn't think I would find anything, but lo and behold there is a company that sells these:

Heel Pad Warehouse

They are available in all kinds of colors and sizes and they recommend 3M Hi-Strength 90 Adhesive to glue the heel pad to the mat.:xyxthumbs:

What year Maxima do you have? I have a 1995 (4th Gen) and I'm dropping a 2002 VQ35 into it.

I ordered the Lloyds Heavy Plush Semi-Custom Floor Mats we carry and I'm really happy with them. Super plush and I couldn't be happier with the build quality.

I know you already have mats, I just wanted share. Maybe one day you'll need to replace those OEM mats.

Although, am looking at close up, vertical ridges and color choices may make the mat look aesthetically worse, but oh well.

Ray,

I have a 2003 GLE with everything including the heated steering wheel.

Anyway, your mats look nice, but the OEM's are decent as well.

Your mats don't have a rubber heel pad as well, so they do look better that way, but they will soon get wear marks and ground in heel dirt in the middle without a pad.

Hey, found a Mazda Miata METAL HEEL PAD, but it is too expensive and probably still slippery:

My car has a very light gray interior. My shoes get very dirty at work. So my mat gets greasy fast. I bought a new set of mats and used one of the old rear mats for a heel pad. When I have clean feet I just remove it and I have clean carpet

Dadillac,

This means you must have size 20 feet to use a rear mat for a heel pad......

Here's the vendor of metal heel pads and metal car pedals:

Nissan Maxima

Shown is the maxima, but they have them for any other make.

Unfortunately even the heel pad itself is too expensive for me.
