I have been using Collinite for cars that require low maintenance, especially like for the fall detail, so the daily driver cars have plenty of paint protection through our northeast ohio winters! I am thinking about trying a paint sealant though. I was debating between the Power Lock and Wolfgang 3.0...then put a top coat of a good nuba, maybe Wolfgang Fuzion or Pinnacle Souveran paste.

I haven't ever used a sealant but after reading the Wolfgang description at the Autogeek.net store Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant delivers a deep, wet, liquid shimmer unlike anything you can imagine. , it says the sealant must cure for a minimum of 12 hours, so overnight. I typically get a detail overnight anyway, so that's not so much an issue...but which sealant is the better of the two, or am I wasting time and resources by using a sealant over the standard Collinite waxes that have been known to last a long time.

You should consider duragloss products. Very reasonably priced and the durability is insane.

I like the clear sealants just because of the "ease of use" factor and that trim and everything gets coated in one shot. I like UPGP. I have tried the 2 you mentioned and they are very nice sealants but I really don't see them being that much more durable if any over Collinite stuff.

As mentioned, the Duragloss stuff is nice too but I think it looks a bit too sterile, or plasticky. UPGP has somewhat of a warm gloss similar to a nuba and gets better looking with each layered application.

My opinion.

I use Opt Poli-seal because it's also an AIO. Leaves a clean finish that's exceptionally durable.

Collie's 845 actually lasts longer than most sealants, so why not stick with that? And 845 is cheaper too. But if you want to try a sealant, how about these:

DP Poli-Coat Paint Sealant, polymer paint sealant, auto paint sealant, DP Policoat paint sealant, paint sealer
Optimum Opti-Seal 8 oz. Free Bonus! New & Improved!
BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal Paint Sealant 8 oz.

I haven't personally tried these products, so I'm only recommending them based on reviews.

Happy Detailing!

I have been using opti-seal a lot here lately. Easy to use and a little goes a long way.

Out of your two, I'd go with Power Lock. It's been my top sealant since I used it the first time. It's super slick, which I really like in an LSP, some don't. It's looks great and lasts quite awhile.

There is no easier sealant to apply than UPGP. There are others that are just as easy, but not easier. Dave notices a nuba type of glow to it, I've noticed a more hard candy look to it and yes, it can be topped with waxes. The 4-ouncer will last you many years. Probably for the life of your vehicle.

GOD, my wish list gets longer every post I read!! I have had this same thought going through my head... never tried a sealant but sure want to and UPGP sure sounds like a great easy one to use!

I don't disagree with any of the other recommendations, but here's another one for you: Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection (UPP). I bought this after seeing it recommended by some folks here on the forum and I had great luck with it - it was very easy to use and it left a beautiful finish.

Here's a photo of my Tundra. It has two coats of Four Star UPP topped with a coat of Collinite 845.

UPP indeed :dblthumb2:

DP Poli-Coat is on BOGO... Try it out. I bought some last week after hearing good things about it. Can't really beat $9.99 per bottle with the BOGO.

Did as you said and I really like it. I have only used it on my own Bonneville and that is Light Bronze in color so dont get to see how "deep" it makes the paint look or not. I will post some pics in their own thread.

Isn't 4-star manufactured by Ultima?? I think it is. Since you have used a Four Star product have you ever used the Four Star Final finish polish?? I ordered it since it was on last weeks BOGO but haven't seen any posts about it anywhere...
