Hi I applied last coat (tops) on Thursday morning.
No Sio2 sealant was applied due to forecast saying no rain.

It sat outside on Saturday afternoon, unfortunately rained but that = more than 48 hours so should be ok.

The time span that I see before washing a vehicle that has been coated is 7 days.
Does this apply to Lite as well, a lite coating?

Reason I ask is the vehicle is going on a motorway and the forecast is not good + road works on the way.

Thanks

You should be fine but i'd still hold off on it's first wash for a few more days.

Yes. If you hit any rain take a look at beading. After it's first wash look at the beading again. It should bead up nicely after its clean.

I'm sure that you are aware, but ceramic coatings won't help with rock chips (helps with bugs). You might want to look into paint protection film if you take the motorway often.

Thanks yes I am aware, use to think that though.
Its basically a sacrificial layer for UV, dust, dirt, pollen etc but not chips or scratches.

YouTube Detailers like to make that claim. I've noticed that they've backed away from that message as the years progress.

Ppf has its own drawbacks. Besides being expensive on the front end you have to remove and replace after - number of years. If it's not installed properly you get to look at that the whole time. Also a chance of the paint being lifted upon removal and the installer will blame you.

Best way to avoid chips is to not let anyone get in front of you.
Happy motoring mate :cruisin:

True.
Another thing is the rock chips from people overtaking or on the other side trucks flicking.

Can be washed at 7-10 days.

Thank you.

Plan to take it on main road motorway on day 6, weather not good at the moment, so I will wait for another couple of days before I wash it.

What is the reason for this, thought it can get wet after 48 hours?

Its going to get very dirty, road works etc.

It’s fine to get wet after 24 hours but it’s the soap that is a risk if used before 7 days. However, a mild soap would be fine, they just say a week so it’s less risk of customers complaining. If you didn’t add a sealant over the coating, watch out for water spots if the car is getting wet that first week.

I didn't put a sealant on after the coating, unfortunately after 48 hours it was put outside and has been raining off and on for the last 4-5 days.

I did a little research for you. These are for UK but you could use it as a starting point for Lite as it is based of the UK formula.

Keep surface dry for at least one hour after application (For best results keep dry 24 hours).
Gently wipe any water off the surface during the first 24 hours after application.
Avoid detergents and chemicals for 5 days after application.
If it is dry and the air is clean outside then you may park the vehicle in direct sun after application to speed the curing.

This is for Lite

After the paint is free of residue, leave to dry for 4 hours prior to getting wet. Any water drops during first 48h should be removed before drying to prevent water spotting. We also recommend the use of CARPRO Reload 1 hour after application to protect from water spots during first 48h.

Thank you for your reply.
I have followed what you listed for Lite.
Car came outside at the 52 hour mark.
It has rained off and on since but now raining consistently since last night, day 6.
