Hello All,

I purchased the twin canister water filtering system from AG along with a bunch of other stuff. but i have a question on when I should (for lack of a better term) recharge the hard water filter with the salt tablets.
Any help with this would be great.

Thanks,
Wil.

Which filter unit?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Can't give you a solid answer. I just do mine every couple of months. I've heard it mentioned when the H2O starts showing signs of being more hard again, like fewer suds in the wash bucket, water spots harder to come up when drying. To be honest I haven't experienced those things so I do every couple of months.

I don't have a set time when I recharge. When I notice a drop off in the amount of foaming from the foam gun I'll recharge. And it's noticable here as the water is very hard. It really depends how frequently I wash, but I'd guess every 6 - 8 weeks I'll recharge the cannister.

Just get a cheap tester. They are only like $15 or so. Test periodically and recharge when necessary. Everyone's schedule would be different due to water hardness, etc.

while on the subject on water filters I plan to buy one just for use during washing my cars . On my show car as i work my way through the restoration and doing water sanding during different phases of the prep and paint work should I use the filtered water ?

TOGWT,This is what I have, Deluxe Filter System

Thanks for the help guys. It has really made a difference in my ablility to wash a car even in direct sunlight. I still pull it straight into the garage after rinse but I worry less now if I don't do it right away. I would recommend this to anyone that has a hard water issue.
