Waterless or rinseless options fabric tops

I now use rinseless and waterless products exclusively to take care of our cars. I have a fabric top convertible MINI. When I asked this four years ago, there weren’t many folks doing this but there have been a lot of changes in products and waterless cleaners in the interim. So, what are folks using now?

i noticed Chemical guys have a setup for this; anyone use it?

•After first brushing/vacuuming the top...

-I’ll then use Meguiar’s D114 @1:128 dilution
ratio for the maintenance cleanings of our
vehicles’ fabric convertible tops.

So far this method works great on our fabric
tops that have previously been cleaned/sealed
with either the RaggTopp or 303 “Kit”. (Haven’t
used the Chemical Guys setup.)

If you don’t have any Meguiar’s D114,
I’m going to suggest that you go with
its clone: McKee’s 37 N-914.

This is good advice.You always want to start with either brushing or vacuuming [with the appropriate semi soft bristled attachment] prior to getting the fabric top wet with anything... The same way you wouldn’t go and spray your choice of carpet cleaner on your matts before giving them a proper vacuuming.

However, in a pinch, or if the top isn’t really all that dirty, a quality waterless wash can indeed work quite well when it comes to cleaning a fabric top of the typical soiling it gets... i.e. bee pollen [or whatever those yellow dots actually are], along with bird crap, etc.

I once had the owner of a late model Bentley who absolutely needed me to help clean the fabric top of the car. Real insistent the guy... I wasn’t even there to detail his car, but in a pinch I used Meguiars Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere [the milky white liquid consumer bottle] paired with a lint free microfiber towel to clean the navy blue fabric top on his Bentley and it removed all the spots and tree droppings leaving the top looking fantastic!
