Wax and backing plate Q's

First backing plate, I am purchasing the Griots DA Polisher and am going to be running 5.5" LC Flats. There are three backing plates here to choose from with quite a surprising price difference. Has anyone had experience with these, which should I go with?

Next to pick the wax/sealant. I am getting MG105 and MG205 for polishing compounds and Wolfgang Swirl Remover. Should I get Optimum Car Wax (spray) or Wolfgang Paint Sealant 3.0. I do not want to get unnessary products here and I do want good results. I am leaning toward Optimum because of the spray on ease of application and heard it has good results but is Wolfgang better because it is a paste that is applied by a DA polisher?

I can tell you that this lake country 5 inch backing plate, 5 inch backin plate, 5 inch hook and loop backing plate backing plate is a great backing plate that lasts and lasts structurally. Any DA backing plate is susceptible to meltdown of the velcro if used too hard for too long in one polishing area as a result of heat building up behind the pad so it would be wise to have a spare backing plate.

As far as your LSP goes, it's personal preference. I would want to lay down a dedicated sealant first to ensure a thorough layer of protection.
 
I'd recommend bfwd a long lasting sealant with great looks and can be applied by hand or machine, cOuld even get a sample on your next order and I've heard some people getting one car out of .5 oz
 
The Lake Country plate is great! You can't go wrong with it.

The M105 and M205 is perfect, but on black cars an extra step is required, like Menzerna SF4500.

May I suggest some Optimum micro fiber pads for the cutting process? Cutting with foam pads on a DA is just torture.. The micro fiber pads will cut the compound time by half. But for the polishing step, stick to foam pads, way better finish!

Sealant and Wax are personal preferences.
I like Poorboys Black Hole Gkaze, followed by M21 sealant followed by M26 wax. But that's just me...
 
In my how-to book I recommend getting a backing plate from the same manufacturer of the pads you're going to use because chances are very good the manufacturer has matched the hook to the loop used for the Velcro attachment system. Makes sense at least.

So it sounding like getting both Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant and Optimum Car Wax spray to spray on after maybe? I am just wondering if the Optimum spray will do the job on it's own from reading the great reviews?
 
I'd give it a shot, nothings better than first hand experience, I'm trying to find less products that do more personally, layering and using an abundance of products seems to be the flavor lately, but I'll be trying a lot of things out myself to see if it really is worth it
