Best wax for black paint.

BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax also meguiars black wax and chemical guys.

Anyone use any of these products or others I haven't mentioned ? Any recommendations? I'll be applying by hand if that makes a difference.

Thanks for any and all help
Mike

Right the first time. Blackfire Blackice Wax. Or Fusion or my fav on any color Pinnacle Souveran. Can't really go wrong as long as the surface is swirl free.

Doesn't really matter due to the fact that your actually treating "clear" coat unless you have and older single stage paint.

I just glad someone said wax instead of sealant or film. I like my waxes.

On my tuxedo black Taurus I like M 26 or Purple Haze/blue velvet. I do however want to try the black ice

All three of these for sure and I have used all of them on my Black Genny.

What are you trying to do? If the finish is swirl and scratch free the Black Ice might be what you're looking for. But for significantly less money the Meguiars works nearly as well and covers any leftover scratches much better.

These were done over a period of about three years.

Bingo! A good quality Wax IMO brings out the warmth and depth and wet look in black. Nothing compares whether that be a sealant or a coating. All waxes mentioned here in the threads are great choices. Blackfire Ice is more of a hybrid. Souveran is more of a pure carnauba.

Dodo Juice Supernatural is good but can be difficult to remove properly.

Sonax Carnauba wax or P21S 100% Carnauba are excellent choices. Carnaubavore is a good choice a guy named Drew makes it as well as Phoenix wax.

There are many choices. You can't go wrong with anything AGO sells.

Applying by hand? I like Meguiar's Ultimate Paste, Chemical Guys Pete's 53, P21s 100% Carnauba, and Meguiar's NXT 2.0 Liquid. For the price and the ease of use by hand, I have a tough time grabbing anything other than Ultimate Paste.

Has anyone in the thread tried out Mothers California Gold Carnauba paste? I'm trying to get a feel for how this wax compares to some like P21s/Pete's 53/Ultimate Paste.

IMO, there is no "best" wax for black. There are lots of good waxes. But I am in the camp that believes wax is for protection only, and that shine comes from making the paint smooth and defect-free.
