Wax Recommendation

I had a streaking problem with Megs Tech Wax on black cars. Supposedly this was a "bad batch " issue, but I waited a few months and wasted 20 bucks on a new bottle today, with the same streaky result. In the meantime, I have been using Souveran, goes on easy, looks great, but it doesn't last very long. I have paste waxes (Megs 16) but removal is a pain.

So what recommendations do you have for a liquid long lasting easy removal wax?

Could it be that you're using too much Tech Wax or trying to apply / remove it in the sun or ???

Megs #16 is super easy to remove unless you're putting it on too thick or trying to apply / remove in the sun or maybe the towel you're using to wipe off is the issue??? I just finished a black Ford Ranger today and applied Megs #16 over Duragloss TPP and removal was a piece of cake as always for me. I typically apply #16 with a cyclo or PC, but just a couple twists of each cyclo pad in the tin and it was good to go for covering the entire hood and both front fenders. A couple more twists of the pads in the tin and it covered the roof and all four doors. A couple more twists of the pads in the tin and that's all I needed to cover the sides of the bed and the tail gate.

Weather also plays a role in all this, so maybe your environment makes removal more difficult?

Collinite 845 is another great choice as already mentioned. It's easy to apply, easy to remove and offers excellent life.

Aquawax is another great choice. Use it every ~6 weeks or so by itself or on top of any nuba or sealant of your choice.

There are a lot of great products to choose from!
 
I can not get over how good Collinite 845 is and how different it is. One of the best products I have ever purchased or used.
 
If I have a black car, I would LOEV to try WG's deep gloss paint sealant. Yea, it's a sealant, but it's supposed to look stunning on black. And of course, it'll last for a long time.

As tempting as that is, I have tooo many products right now. Also, I have nothing I can use WGDG on. And another also, I believe it's tough to use in the sun, and since I'm mobile, that's possible.


As soon as I get a dark colored car (soon), I'll let you know.

Megs #16 can be a pain to remove if you let it dry. Just wax on, and wipe it right off. Don't let it dry. If you are looking for a durable carnauba wax, look at Collinite #845, of #476S. Once again, wax on, wax off. Apply it very thin.

It does look AMAZING. I've only used it on my black car once.

I used it on my white car (see avatar) combo with WGDGS/LS/paste Souveran, and I used it in the sun without any problems. Since you are a detailer there, WGDGS should be a top product in your arsenal :D
 
If youre looking for durability and shine, go for the WG DGPS and Souveran combo. Since youve already got the Souveran, this will be a relatively inexpensive upgrade that will give you exactly what you're looking for.

However, I have never had a problem with the durability of Souveran...
 
Four Star UPP ... you'll never get enough of "that" look. Add a carnauba only as needed.
 
Many of the products mentioned here that I have no experience with.
I have used Poorboys sealant as a base and top with Poorboys Nattys Blue
with great results. You can use these in the sun with great results.
 
I got some Collinite 845 recently (have 915 on the way) and I could not believe the beading. Will last a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggggggg time too!! Oh, and it looks good too:-)

Since I have both of these products, I will try this combo--that is the sealant first, then top with the Souveran paste?

When I had two vehicles, I didn't care if the wax job didn't last long, because this was not my daily driver. Location: South Florida.

Correct. Sealant first, then Souveran. But remember let the sealant cure over night before you slap on some Souveran.

Collinite and UPP are both AG products.
