Wax Toppers over ceramic coating

Hey guys,

My Abarth has just been coated with Nasiol NL272 ceramic coating, and my folk's Mk3 Delta is coated with ZR53 ceramic coating. I'm looking for a wax-like top coat to apply over the coating to further increase protection and boost gloss.
I'm a bit in a debate between the new Gyeon WAX or TW Graphene paste wax. Which one of them would be better for my application?
I'm also open to hear about other suggestions :)

And before I forget, What prep work should I do for the cars prior to applying a top coat?

Neither. Use a ceramic maintenance spray, like Dr. Beasley's AdvanceCoat Gloss, Gyeon Q2M Ceramic Detailer or similar.

Putting wax on top of a coating will have it take the properties of the wax until the wax is gone, losing the self cleaning aspect, reducing the contact angle of the water beading.

Not even a Silica-spray seal? Like Carpro Reload?
 
I would go with the Gyeon wax as it is compatible with ceramic coatings. Not sure about the Turtle Wax.
 
Where did this concept of applying car
Waxes to Ceramic Coatings originate?

My understanding is that Ceramic Coatings
are engineered/formulated to work—and to
do that work all by themselves; that is to say:
”inured to fatigue and hardships”/be durable.

Gyeon Wax for the win. Agree with Sio2 sealants although my experience with reload and DR. Beasley’s Advanced Coat Gloss... both are weak and performed worse.

If not trying the Gyeon Wax (beading is insane)

My go to in Sio2 sealants are Polish Angel products. Kami Overcoat is nice too.

In the price range of Dr. B’s ACG or Reload.... try Griots Ceramic 3-1

GYEON's new Q2 Wax is the ONLY "wax" based product I would use over top of a standard SiO2 Coating. It's a flourine based product just like their Skin / Booster Products and has a 115* contact angle. Good stuff.
 
Looks like I'll need to get some of the Gyeon Wax stuff. I have CQ UK 3.0 which I topped with Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax back in late October. Why? Just because, I guess. I figured it was a good sacrificial layer.

I did my wife's CX-5 a week prior and all she had was the HCW. This morning I washed her car and the HCW has completely failed at this point, which is fine. This car was washed MAYBE twice over your standard New England winter, and the HCW wax lasted 5 or 6 solid months which I am very happy with.

I've washed my car WAY more often than hers, so it's safe to say at this point I'm down to the CQ layer. On vertical surfaces the hydrophobicity is solid. On the hood and trunk you can clearly tell the protective qualities have been diminished.

Since I was clueless when I polished my car last July, my goal is to re-polish everything and reapply the CQ UK. Topping it with Gyeon Wax after the fact makes sense, right? I don't know why, but it just seems weird to me to leave the coating as-is, as opposed to topping it with something to increase longevity.

I feel like there are two schools on this - straight coatings vs. coatings with toppers. Wonder which would win in a death match :D
