Hey guys,

I was watching HGTV (Home & Garden TV) the other day and on some show they were working on this woman's kitchen. I forgot what show it was because I usually leave that channel on while browsing the web (don't judge me, I build residential homes for a living), and they broke out some car wax on the kitchen cabinets!!

Naturally, this caught my attention. The host of the show said that using car wax on dull/faded kitchen cabinets will recondition them, give them a nice shine, and bring them back to life. They didn't show what wax they were using but they were applying it to wood kitchen cabinets - no clue how car wax would bond to wood but that's what they did.

Anyways, I'm not advising to break out the Souveran and start applying it to everything in your kitchen; just something I thought was very interesting and wanted to share with you all.

Thanks,
Emile

Wonder if you use a PC or a Rotary LOL Now there is going to be a fight on here what machine to use

We have maple cabinets in our house and wipe down using ONR followed by Optimum car wax. Spray wax is so easy to use and wow do they shine.

No machines used just a little arm action.

I think the PC, though I have never owned or used one, would be best.
Another piece of weight added to the scales for "Reasons to buy a PC".

Must... resist... the urge to buy one

I would also follow up with a great sealant too....WolfGang DGPS 3.0 and let that cure while your cooking.......he, heIm the MAN

I have seen this before, Meguiars use to have a Lemon Oil for wood furniture but has been discontinued. I use Flitz on my counter tops, leaves a nice shine.

hmm good thought. i already waxed my monitor (dodo rainforest rub) and my clothes washer (rboe) and the kitchenaid stand mixer (p21s 100%) perhaps some fuzion on the cabinets then?

I will tell you a coat of Glass Science on your shower doors and glass sliders makes a huge difference too.

Funny to see this on here today, cause last night i sprayed and wiped my entire living room, kitchen and dining room with Optimum Car Wax. Looks great, just try not to fall out of the dining room chairs.

I would think this would only work if the wood has had a laquer or a clear coat applied to it, I don't see why it wouldn't soak into the pores of the wood, if it was just stained, or left natural with no polyeurethane. Maybe wrong though. I will give it a try.

Now, just so I don't put in on the hardwood floors.... hahahaha

What would be wrong with putting it on hardwood floors? My kitchen has hardwood floors and I was going to do that next.

You will slip and slide and break your head on the slippery floor.

Ask Scott what happened when he did his shower back in the day. LOL

It seemed like a great idea at the time ..... unfortunately a painful experience that brought out the scientist in me and my findings .... Klasse AIO on top of tile/grout in shower allows soap/water to stay on top and without proper footing leads to a sore keester and back pains for a week.

The walls however were protected for months !
