In response to this thread http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/30901-natty-won-t-come-off.html Steve and I washed his car today and I decided to do a quick wax on it to show how to wax in the cold.

We washed it down with Super Slick and Wax than did a quick drive and dried the rest with Spray and Gloss and DMT towels.

And so we begin

We have the temp and the clock to show you the Wipe on Wipe off process you use with Natty's and cold weather waxing. (The temp continued to go down it went down to 39 when we went inside and in Steve's truck it was 36)

Applying it to the hood in small sections half of the hood at a time

Remember keep it thin!

Time we wipe it off its just a wipe on wipe off its cold enough the oils in the wax set right up no need to sit.

Taking it off (Came off like butter)

So tips to cold weather waxing with Natty's:

Do small sections at a time
Wipe on Wipe off

I'm no Mike Phillips lol but I tried  Now get out there and wax away! :buffing:

Oh and P.S. Steves camera sucks lol its 3.2 mega pixels so the pics aren't doing the Natty's justice at all and we weren't setting up the shot it was cold we wanted to get inside hahaha

I'm a Southern Californian. 41F is the depths of winter.

I'll wait for a day with temps in the 60's or 70's to wax again.

:iagree: on the other hand 2min wax to wipe off seems insane. Glad you put it up for those poor folks that live in places like that, I don't think it would occur to them to try it. On the flip side it hit 41 here the other day but waxing at 3am seems like a waste of sleeping time to me.:xyxthumbs:

I've done a lot of cold weather waxing with Natty's and that is exactly how I do it too. I used PWS in 31 degree weather a few weeks ago. You can polish the entire vehicle in sub freezing weather and it wipes off as easy as it does in the summer.

Awesome, thanks Pockets for following up! What is the temp range that it can and should be used as WOWO?

Thanks again!

I love me some Natty's Blue Liquid. Whether it's 90 degrees in the sun or freezing cold the stuff works as advertised.

Exactly how I did it in my 40 degree garage about a month and a half ago. Worked great!

I think I'm just going to use my Natty's Red as WOWO all the time now, it was much easier than when I did applied it over the summer and it seems to be protecting well still.

I've noticed that Natty's loses its beading rather quickly (around 2 months from my experience) but I can tell that the paint is still well protected even after the beading lets go. :xyxthumbs:

Definitely going to be buying another tin of Nattys after I run out :) (might be awhile!)

40 degrees? I woke up to -10 today and it hovered at 5 for the high. My Natty's blue is getting extra lonely.

NoleFan, do a test section first and if you feel that it is too cold or too hot than you use the WOWO method. I would say around 40 and above 90.

41 that was blazing hot. I put down some Nattys (liquid) last week and it was like in the 30's. It worked really good.

I don't have any Natty's but PP and PP2 did wonders on chrome step bars for me yesterday in 36 degree sun!

Yes, it will work in colder weather but if you run into an issue like the first post this is just a way that will guarantee that it wont be hard to remove. That's what that test spot initially is for :props: Nice truck btw looks great!!

Nice article Chris. When you say you and Steve washed the vehicle, who got stuck on wheel/roof duty

The Dodge looks like she's holding up well. The paints popping for sure. Nice PTG also

Understand, just wanted to chime in and also state it works well in cold weather. The liquid nattys is great stuff. It seems to save some time. I use the small sample bottle to apply.

I have not had many issues with a variety of products at around 45 to 50 degrees.
