wet/dry vac?

Im trying to figure out if there are any shop vacs that have anywhere near the suction power of a comercial unit like the ones at a typical car wash?

I use a ridgid 12 gal wet dry vac 5hp, I think it works better than any vacuum at a car wash (at least the ones I've gone to) I feel like the paid vacuums take longer and the attachments are not as good and are too wide maybe the point is for you to keep putting coins in. ALso some carpets are more of a pain to vacuum then others.

I just make sure I empty It out and filter is clean
 
There is a forum member by the name of "richy" search his threads he did a review on a very nice, affordable and powerful vacuum. If i saw it before i bought mine i would have got what he did instead. Its actually a commercial brand vacuum.

I have a ridgid vac. like 5hp. it's a smaller one , perfect for my use . it's doesn't look like a upright round canister vac though . I also bought a premium hose, prob like 1.25 or 1.5 dia and the auto accessories attachments kit. maybe the hose came with the kit, I don't remember . I don't care for vacs that have big honkin hoses .
 
My shopvac 4.5 hp for 40 dollars gets the job done great for
me
 
There is a shop vac by craftsman that has 6 hp and is large
 
no portable vac will give the power of a real car wash vac(meaning a central unit and plumbed to each station consisting of a 220v or 440v huge turbine vacuum unit. those things can suck some stuff up for sure lol, can suck a quarter up from about 6 inches or so away. just go with a rigid or shop vac, will work great for vacuuming carpets, i have some standard nozzles, some micro nozzles and a couple bissel nozzels i use for extraction, works great with the correct technique. those micro nozzles are a life saver when detailing, can just vaccuum alot of the dust out of cracks and crevices and hard to reach areas. i love my micro nozzles.
 
where did you pickup your micro nozzles from?
 
I have the 5.5hp 5gal shop vac brand and it can SUCK.:)
 
You can get central vacuums off eBay for nit much more than a good shop vac. A central vac won't do water of course but if your comparing something to a car wash, well they don't either. A good central vac will have over 130" of water lift which is the standard measurement for a vacuums suction.

got the micro nozzles from walmart, lowes has them as well. but i got a couple pieces of hose to make it much easier to get to the hidden spaces...
