Can I wet sand a bumper like I would a regular metal panel? Any advice is much appreciated. I'm planning on going at it with 3000 grit then Meg's UC, then Swirl X

The wifes Subaru has plastic cladding on the lower panels.

That said, she got a couple of road booboos some time back on these plastic areas. Sanded, reshot the base and clear and finished if off just like metal. Didn't use anything 'special' for plastic, just the 'normal' products.

Mike - make sure you have your DA with you this time! lol

3000 grit you should be fine though.

Those panels can't take heat like paint on metal so be extra careful when polishing them or you will melt the paint.

It can definitely happen using a rotary on the plastic bumpers. I tend to try to stick to my DA when I correct bumpers. Less heat build up.

Just take it steady too easy to strip down to the plastic.
Unless you have 2k Dollar plus paint gauge you have no idea how much there is to play with.

Thank you for the responses. I've been out for a bit. Going to attempt it in a couple days. Wish me luck.
