What are the must have tools to start a successgful detailing business?

Hi guys!

I have been wanting to start a small part time (weekends) mobile detailing gig just around my house. I was wondering what are the must have tools and products you need in order to start out and make it successful? (example: polishers, products, brushes, ect ect)
I already have a the Flex 3401 with pads, and Wolfgang product...but what else is a must have?

Air compressor for cleaning nooks & crannies of interiors, a shop vac, carpet spotter for stain removal/cleaning seats.
 
What you got is great plus what tapp added. Here is a list I put together when I first started doing it part time:
Exterior: Hose - microfiber drying towels - dedicated brushes(wheels, chrome, tire, etc...) Either a couple wash mitts or a boars hair wash brush - 3 buckets w/grit guards - quality shampoo, degreaser, dressing I find that Meguiars was the best to start out with in the beginning because they have everything you need in one place.

Interior: Quality shop wet/dry vac can take care of just about anything in the carpets and seats. You'll have to work harder without a compressor and shampooer but the same work is achievable if your willing to work at it till your able to get the tools that make detailing easier and funner.

That's exactly how I started out, I was willing to work harder till I could afford better tools but I made it work never sacrificing my prices our the quality of work required to retain my customers. If you atleast do that last part you should be good. The rest is learned with experience. Good luck.
 
I agree on the vacuum. I also really like the Rubber Pet Brush, which is something that I would not do without. It works great on all types of hairs. The FLEX is wonderful. I mostly use Chemical Guys products, due to being able to buy them by the gallon and the price. Poorboys Spray and Rinse is also the best wheel cleaner that I've tried.
