What are you listening to...?

Last night, one of my favorite musical artists read a comment of mine on a live stream while signing records for her new album. I know most here won't be into her, but she's been a massive ray of light for me, be it the music or the podcast with her mother. Everyone has that artist or band that makes them feel good, Jessie Ware is one of them for me and why I still kick myself for not making the time to go and see her when she was last in Australia. Hence my excitement of her reading and thanking me for my comment.

Superbloom was released last Friday and it's such a beautiful masterpiece in every way. While the disco bangers are the hook for me, there are some truly lovely tracks in there that really tug at your heart. '16 Summers' references how parents only get 16 summers with their children before they begin to fly (she has 3 kids under 10). 'Love You For' was written for her son (who opens the track) and it's had me emotional at every listen, so warm, so loving, beautifully performed.

".....See you running around,
With stars in your eyes,
And no cares at all..........."

Sorry, I'm gushing as I haven't been in love like this with an album for quite a while. I've ordered 3 different personalized signed albums. And that has been making me feel good.

When was the last time you bought a CD, let alone a cassette?

Let the flower in the rain paint the colour of June
Take me back to the place where we met, superblooming
Every day, just like before
Don't let me go
Give me that superbloom

I don't think I have anything that can even play a cassette anymore.

I still have one, been a very long time since I've used it though. It's also got this thing called a "5-CD changer" as well.

If I want to play a CD, it has to be in one of the cars, a DVD player, or my PlayStation. None of our "Hi-fi" units have a functional CD player anymore. And I just remembered none of our laptops do either, and we don't have any desktop units either.

The newest car in the fleet with a CD player is my Ranger. I stream music on everything now, but you certainly notice the sound performance difference once you go back to a CD.

I used to stream when we had Pandora, when that left I tried Spotify and hated it. So all my music is MP3s I digitised from my CDs, or acquired elsewhere. I have a bunch of USBs I regularly update.
